Agree with the Campo dei Fiori comment - unfortunately that can be the case with a lot of guidebook recommendations. I like rather to take a wander and see what i can find down a (nice) back alley!
6 Things I'm Psyched to Do in Rome in 2013
Rome's amazing every year. But I'm especially excited for 2013 in the Eternal City. Here are six things on my "bucket list" for my upcoming year in Rome (and beyond)! Attending Rome's best temporary exhibitions The Vermeer exhibition: on my list of must-dos for 2013! Compared to past years, 2...
love that keyhole view pic. I went to Rome 10 years ago and I think it's time to sample Roman charms once again! :)
A Quiet Walk In Rome
View from Aventine Hill After craning your neck for a look at the Sistine Chapel, jockeying for a front-row seat in Piazza Navona and side-stepping your way up the Spanish Steps, you may find yourself craving a quiet place to admire the city of Rome. A beautiful and peaceful stroll throu...
Never really thought to go to Barcelona at Christmas - seems much more of a summery destination, but this looks great. I've gone to Barcelona by train before overnight from Paris and def want to go back :)

Barcelona Festivals: Three Kings Parade
Images from BCN Ajuntament Tonight is the most magical night in Barcelona - the parade of the Three Kings - Los Reyes Magos. My favorite night of the year. A night where you relive the whimsy and wonder of being a child. My children (girl & boy in cape) and their friend on the w...

It's a shame that there is no direct service by train to Honfleaur - there used to be a station there until 1977. Now you can get there by going to Deauville from Paris St Lazare, and then getting a bus. I thought I'd list the rail options for non drivers out there!
Picture Perfect Honfleur
I was seriously giddy when we drove into the town of Honfleur. Oh my gosh, it is simply gorgeous! Hubs wasn't too keen on my excitement since I am his navigator and my job was to get us safely to a parking lot. For every "look at that," he'd ask, "which way now?" -- a fairly common exchan...
I love Printemps and Les Galleries Lafayette near Christmas they remind me of Harrods and Selfridges. Great pics, makes me reminisce!
Christmas in Paris 2012: Printemps
I adore the Printemps windows this year but I have a slight problem with them. As fun and imaginative as they are, they symbolize promoting a brand rather than the spirit of Christmas. The windows are devoted to the Dior brand and their logo and name is bluntly splashed everywhere. As much as ...
