The New Old Knitting Doctor Blog
I finally did manage to get the main Knitting Doctor blog up and running again. There are still bunches of old photos that need to be re-uploaded, but you'll find me blogging back here. Continue reading

Yarn chicken
I have 5 repeats of the edging left on the mystery baby thing. Fortunately, I have more of this yarn in the stash. I just was hoping that I wouldn’t need to wind up a whole hank of it for... Continue reading

Happy New Year! Simple and serene sounds lovely.
No title
Oh, lucky you! I'd love to take a class with Jared. You will like using the percentage system. It's a very intuitive way to knit sweaters. I used the method to modify a commercial pattern so it fit the way I wanted. I wouldn't be afraid to knit a whole sweater using this system.

Yesterday, I swung by what I am fondly calling New Knitch. You know versus Old Knitch which is still where you need to go for all your knitting needs. Well until 2 p.m. today that is. Then you will be Knitchless until Thursday when they open back up in their new location. Have to tell ya ...
It looks like a great trip, all except the mushy peas. ;-)
Some London Spice
Now I haven't even begun to sort through all the photos of London. I took 547 and well The Man however topped out at 800+. Trust me his life was in danger on the last day for my patience only can last for so long when we are on a long walk but I'm having to stop every 15 feet for him snappin...
We're not entirely vegetarian either, but do enjoy cooking with grain and bean based entrees frequently. I have two favorites for you. The first is "Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone" by Deborah Madison. It's as close to Julia Child as you'll get with a vegetarian cookbook. The second is "The Passionate Vegetarian", by Crescent Dragonwagon. Both are excellent.
Meat Free Monday
I'm not a vegetarian but have always eaten a diet which doesn't depend on meat to be the centre-piece of every meal. We have decided to do Meat Free Monday from now on (and possibly Wednesday and Friday as well), and I'm on the look out for a new and interesting vegetarian cookery book. I have...
That is a great photo! I love how you've "placed" the arches and lines of the structures.
Katie under the bridge
I drive under this overpass frequently, as it is on my preferred route home from work -- which is different than my preferred route to work. I started taking different routes home when I was prepping to quit smoking 4+ years ago -- it was one of the tips I'd read to change up the routine and co...
Oh man. That list of artists will have me humming all day long! Have you listened to Pandora radio? It's www.pandora.com. You put in artist "seeds" and it comes up with playlists based on your choices. I have an oldies playlist with many of those artists, it's terrific.
Hooked On A Feeling
Please excuse the repetition. I just love this picture -- the little yellow house, the sky, the feeling. I'm hooked on this feeling. Happy Birthday, BJ Thomas!! I feel so warm and fuzzy when I hear his songs on the radio. "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" was the accompanying 45RPM to The...
Great photos! Getting out into those rural areas is just one of my favorite things. I guess I lived on the farm long enough that it will never get out of my system.
Sunday Road Trip, continued
I am pretty sure I wouldn't feel the same about the Lake Michigan shoreline if it weren't also for the farms. It's what I love about my favorite side of Lake Winnebago, too. There are some similarities in what I love about large bodies of water and farmland -- the openness of the sky, th...
It fits beautifully! Quite handsome, I'd say. I have those exact same Birkies.
The man from...
At last, the Bloke Sweater is finished. Over a year ago, Blueadt offered me some Rowan yarn to knit a sweater with. She sent me a full pack of ten skeins. The colourway is called Shark. I cast on with enthusiasm using the basic drop shoulder pattern from Ann Budd's Knitter's Handy Book of...
