I collect labels, old scrap images, and the like as well. It is nice to keep them all together in a book - a little curated collection!
I hope you are enjoying the warmth and all of your flowers. We have snow.
Best Regards,
Maribeth
old/new acquisitions
I love old things. Especially household items. Here are two of my most recent finds, mostly acquired for their labels, if I'm being perfectly honest. - an old Fanta bottle. It's made from really thick, heavy glass and I found it last night walking home along our road. Council workers had cu...

I will try your recipe for hot chocolate. My kids can be quite picky so I am always looking for just the right amount of sweet and creamy. Pretty embroidery last week. Sorry I missed out in the etsy shop.
Be well. Maribeth
warm hands
Hot chocolate season has begun again in our house. It's always a favourite treat, especially for when the kids have friends over after school. I think I've written about this every year so I'm sorry about the repetition. But I also wanted to show off these great new (to me) cups sent by He...

Calm blue, gently swimming, flowers float along.
Have a nice weekend.
pattern friday- 2
Second installment of pattern friday today- this time the pattern was the result of playing around with oil paints with the kids. I used an old photo of swans I took in Germany a few years ago as inspiration. Last week I noticed that Susie of Flowerpress joined in with her bright weaving de...
Thanks for the chance. Now that I have finally "graduated" to knitting sweaters (rather than just scarves and hats), I would use these buttons on a knitted garment!
button up- a giveaway
These handmade buttons by Sarah of Fulton and Co arrived in the letterbox over the weekend. They are made from pearly smooth ceramic, slightly earthy and delicate at the same time. I think they look beautiful on handmade garments- if I was more of a knitter, I would knit a stack of wint...
Dear Melissa,
I find creating spaces of discipline in my life very useful. It helps me to organize time and creative energies. A couple of years ago I made a small watercolor each day onto a handmade calendar. I learned a lot about painting and seeing by doing this. You will have fun with this project!

pattern friday
I bought myself a new sketchbook the other day, and (to make sure I actually use it) I'm challenging myself to drawing a pattern every Friday to cheer up the blog. So here is my first 'pattern friday'- feel free to join in if you like! This pattern was made with watercolours, listening to thi...
Happy birthday to you both! What a pretty card. Lucky girl!
eight
I painted a birthday card for Keira- she turns eight today! Because this blog has really grown up with her, I dug out a few of my old photos to make her a birthday post. I believe I started writing here when she was about one or two. Watching a child grow is a good, yet strange, way to mar...
Hi Melissa. The music is very beautiful. I take piano lessons and always listen for pieces with piano and wonder if I could play so well some day. This is so quiet and yet so dynamic at the same time.
Can the lavender sachets be shipped into the US?

raspberry red
Isn't this dark berry-red a beautiful colour. I found an old tablecloth in my fabric stash, it was made from very fine linen and embroidered with red roses. Most of the table cloth was in bad condition, but I rescued the rosy bits to make a pair of matching lavender sachets. Very pleasing....
Thanks for the chance! Lovely.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We did. On Saturday hubby & I went in nature, and picked a (not endangered or protected) plant we had spotted last year. I'm most probably going to dye with it today, so I'll talk more about it in a next post ! For the moment, I wanted to share the beauty, th...
