"Hello, what's this?" "Can I eat it?" "Hey, this is fun already!" "Okay, so you unwrap it like this.." "..And then there's something really cool inside! Hilarious!" Well, I think that was a success! How I love that smile, that grin, that laugh.. How I love that girl. Happy Holidays,... Continue reading

I'm much better (and faster)at crochet than I am at knitting, and I have always thought the same as you about the lack of nice patterns to be found. But these are gorgeous!! The buttons on the pea coat really finish it perfectly. Well done, you!
Have a lovely weekend :-)

ANJI BEANE PROVES ME WRONG
people always ask me which i prefer, knitting or crocheting. and i always answer in the same way; i love them both equally but crocheting is solely for afghans and amigurumi........and maybe a hat or two. if you want to make clothing, knitting is the only way to go. crochet just doesn't produce ...
Ha, great photo. I'm sure the twirl factor must be pretty good in that skirt, and hey, the boots match, don't they? I mean, they're red!!!
Mine is a silly moment playing with my little girl:

Thanks, hon :-)
Yes, my mum and dad said that they were predicting wild weather over there today (they're on the Central Coast). We don't have TV here, so I get all my news and weather over the phone *LOL*
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, too - and hold onto those heads! xxx

Our Home.
Goodness, it's been ages since my last post! We've had Springtime colds here (Lulu's first ever, poor thing), and they just seemed to hang on and on and to last for weeks! That, and, to be honest, lately I feel like I've barely been keeping on top of all the... Continue reading

Haha - go the Bundaberg; it's so yummy, isn't it? I think of it as our answer to (their) delicious maple syrup. ;-)
Yes, I'm a fellow Aussie! I'm over here in WA, but I grew up in your part of the world - did my schooling in Sydney, and my grandparents had a farm a few hours' south of Sydney. The rest of my family are still over east..
I'm so glad to have found another blogger living in this part of the world, and in the same season! Reading all those US blogs always makes me yearn for their current season, seeing all the posts now about the lovely Autumn colours, and making apple butter, etc! Are you a Waldorf/Homeschooler?
Will be looking forward to following your posts from now on, m'dear!

Yes, I toast brown rice till golden in a dry pan, then wait for it to cool and store it in a jar. When I'm ready to cook some, I grind it in a small coffee grinder, and then cook it up like porridge with water and a pinch of salt. It only takes a few minutes. (Basically, I just follow the instructions in 'Feeding the Whole Family' by Cynthia Lair). It's true what she says, too - it does taste good enough for the whole family! I eat it with sliced banana and a dollop of natural yoghurt, and Lulu has it with a bit of pureed banana and breastmilk. :-)

Yes, lovely, bright colours, and looks like a very joyful moment!
Mine is just brekkie in my kitchen this morning - the first day it's felt like Springtime - yay!
I'm loving your blog; I really share your desire to live a sustainable life in the city - I'm a ways off of that yet, but I'm hoping to start a vegie garden this summer.. I will add you to my 'follow' list, if I can figure out how to again! *S*

Pink birdy pants!
How sweet is this little bird print? Its called 'Nest', by Valori Wells for Free Spirit, and is made from the softest 100% cotton corduroy. It also comes in lime green and teal blue (that I know of!). Now, I'm not so sure Lulu needed another pair of pants... ...but... Continue reading

Weekend crafting: applique collage wall-hanging
How much mileage can you get from a few yards of fabric you bought to make skirts? Um, lots! So far, from these beautiful Heather Bailey prints, I have made skirts for myself, pants for Lulu, last weekend I made this wall-hanging for our home, and I still have leftovers... Continue reading
