I never did find out what the black dots were supposed to signify. And the company got back to me by email to confirm that, yes, they did make this model, but unfortunately did not have any manuals for it. Sort of tells you something when the company itself isn't tracking it anymore!
We ended up sending this one to the scrap yard, and bought a very nice second-hand stove from our church when they remodeled the kitchen.
Calling All Cooks
Well, I have to admit. I normally wouldn't post pictures of my kitchen on this blog. Not because I'm ashamed of my kitchen. It's actually very charming, even if it is a little messy all the time and we aren't quite done getting everything organized after the move. No, it's because I'm ashamed...
Is the baseball game something the kids created, or is it a game played like marbles? I'd really love to hear how it's played!
SoulePapa Blogs :: Loose Change
I saw some of my oldest and dearest friends recently. I've known them since I can remember knowing anybody. They've always just been there...even when they're not there. Like family. We've blown and scattered, our communications few, even in this golden age of electric text. With a littl...
I remember Little League, and playing catcher, a position I played for many years, even into softball in high school, all because no one else wanted it. The rush of putting on all of that gear between innings. I miss that.
ten things
ten things I'm loving right now... 1. Absolutely every little crafty thing that just arrived from good-ness. I can't wait to sew with it all 2. My rekindled pregnant-in-the-summer love affair with banana splits. 3. The bittersweet end of a little league season, where I watched my child's ...
The corncrib we had at our farm when I was little was fairly delipidated, so in an ironic twist of humor, my dad found an old 1940-1950's bomb shelter sign and hung it from the wood.
The old sleigh in the rafters
There isn't much to see around here except corn. Lots and lots of corn. The old saying goes "knee high by the Fourth of July" but most of it's taller than my 5'8" today. The old corn crib's fate is yet undetermined. It needs work. The horses have taken the corn crib name a bit literally ...
My hubby would be drooling right now (avid pheasant hunter...doesn't really hunt much else).
Morning visitor
It doesn't matter how often I see pheasants, deer, quail, etc., they still amaze me. Living in the middle of 150 acres we see a lot of this type of visitor. We usually hear the pheasants more than see them. This pretty boy was sitting on the fence when Katie went out to get on the bus.
Buttons are a great idea.
And what do you have against Project Runway's winner? My hubby and I were ecstatic! Well, he was happy, I was pumping my fists in the air and cheering wildly, lol.
a solution!
Tonight, the Spam Man, in a rare moment of face to face communication*, asked me, what was happening with all the resins I have been making? "where are they all?" "when will you be selling them?" etc. .... no comment. ANYWAY, I then had an epiphany (yes, Secret Hill, I looked THAT one up! :-...
Was the "be kind" rule for him to us, or us to him, lol! Just kidding, he'll be fine out here.
goodbye::hello
goodbye:: Today is the start of a two week blog break for me. I've been working for some time now on a project that I'm quite excited about, and as it's nearing a completion in the coming weeks, it's going to need all of my attention. I'm going to do my best to stay away from the computer, an...
Ok, first of all...HUGS.
Now, take a deep breath.
Lets start with the slippers. Those awesome slippers I would have loved when I spent a week in the hospital with the munchkin after he was born, with feet and ankles so swollen I couldn't wear anything BUT slippers, but mine didn't look as good as yours!
Anyhow, did some research (clicked on over to http://www.onlyslippers.com/) and realized that most of their slippers start around $49.99. If you can find a way to cut your materials cost (buying in bulk, for instance) then you can keep your per hour cost up and still charge around $50. A lot of people are willing to spend this for a baby shower gift. However, no offense to you bil, $40 an hour is pretty high. My hubby makes half that (US dollars). So maybe $20 an hour? I don't know, just throwing out some ideas.
For any and all of these, your own website store would be best (we'll funnel people your way, lol).
Hope this helps!
incite needed.
Is there something wrong with me? I have people wanting to buy my stuff but I seem to put up so many barriers to actually making the transaction. So, I ask you, my friends, can you listen to my query/questions and offer some incite? 1. I am not interested in having my creations mass produced...
I totally agree with the spider-ick factor. My hubby thinks it's funny I check behind the bed every night, but almost every other night there's another spider lurking, on my side too! And then the one's that hide, like yours in the drawer...too much! I swear they lie in wait and then stick their tongues out at us, nyah nyah, and then run like heck while we're still screaming. Sigh.
I just remembered what I don't like about fall
SPIDERS!! Big hairy nasty spiders. *shudder* I've just given myself the creeps. It's been so cool here the last few days, down into the low 30s at night. The dang spiders are coming out of the woodwork. I was just looking through a drawer for envelopes and one came running out. I screamed...
Those are beautiful horses...draft horses? My husband and I have considered owning a farm someday to raise draft horses and some of the other "forgotten" animals...I grew up with sheep and plenty of cats!
Progress
Brett's dad started spraying primer yesterday. What a difference. We have a couple of more buildings to prime (garage and granary) and then can start painting. It does not appear as though the weather is going to be very cooperative this week t...
Oh, I'm so glad I remembered what time the sale was, got there right on the dot, even had my alarm set on my cell phone to remind me! Now comes the wait. I'm thinking of framing the postcards for my craft room, very inspirational. thank you for sharing your creativity with us!
the Stitchettes
The Stitchette embroidery patterns are bought up. Thank you!! up for sale in the shop now. Click over for the details. Thanks! I've turned off comments for a little while so that I can more accurately count orders in my email. They'll be back on! A few questions I've received... do the Stichet...
Ah yes, we are in the same boat. Except I never know which nap he's going to want, be it the morning or afternoon, and length is sketchy too!
Mail love, movies, teeth/Correo amoroso, peliculas, dientes
A little while ago, Marieke had a drawing to celebrate that she had finished her second journal and to thank her readers. I was one of the lucky winners! I was so excited because I love Marieke's blog and her style. So today I received this beautiful package all the way from the Netherlands...
He is a born actor, such creativity and look at that face! Such intensity.
implements of inspiration
A mate-less sock, a baby clothes hanger, duct tape, and cardboard. Found sticks, hemp twine, and cram cream tape. (With a pink tulle apron.) We have a 'no gun' rule at our home that started as a 'no weapon' rule. But you can see that my little negotiator worked swords, knives, bows, and hoo...
Just sent my payment...so excited. And now to wait...Thank you for your creativity!
sold out.
Mailorder #3 is sold out. Thank you for your support mailorder members! Your dedication and loyalty will not go unrewarded.
Now I have a serious craving for baklava. Had forgotten how good it is. There aren't any places in Wichita I can think of that sell it (I used to get it when I lived in California, but that was a long time ago). Very jealous about the shoes, they are too cool!
good lord, thank you!
ah man! thank so much for all the swell birthday wishes. It was so wonderful to read all the comments. It was really rainy here yesterday and I was in all day with a big goofy grin on my face reading what you all wrote. thank you. and so good to hear of the mutual LesportSac appreciation. And ...
Happy Birthday! I'm only a few months behind you on my 33rd, and it scares me that I take a serious look at the Avon "anti-aging" products I sell on the side. Ugh. And I think those eyebrow hairs only grow in sunlight. I never see them until I leave the house!
my happy day!
I am 34 today. That sounds old, but then again, not so old, you know? That's mom and me at the beach. I obsess over old photos of her. It's funny, I think about my mom so much more on my birthday now that I have kids because she is the one that gave birth on this day. Yes, I was born, but I...
It seems so unfair I live in Kansas, all the fun bloggers seem to live in Portland! Sigh. Beautiful bag. I just gave a friend some TimTams for her graduation, I was lucky enough to find a place in Wichita that sells them!
I went to a party and got some fabric.
Mariko hosted a back tack III party at her house Saturday and I enjoyed myself immensely. There were lovely Portland bloggers there, most of whom brought their back tack projects to show and share ideas, although we mostly just ate and talked. I am not a back tack participant this time, so I w...
My 11 mo old munchkin now has eight; he, too, got four in at the same time. I can't imagine what that must feel like, but I know nothing is safe from his chompers! Love the list, sounds a lot like my brain waves lately. And I'm so jealous, no Ikea even close to me and shipping is horrendous!
a very random ten
This list has no cohesive theme, I assure you. And if you think it's any indication of the all-over-the-place state of my mind at the moment, well, yes...yes it is. 1. This lovely vintage ribbon arrived in the mail yesterday. I love it. Looove it. I bought it just a few days ago from LesBonRi...
Funny, recently I've found just the opposite. I've just started crafting during my son's naps and letting more of the dishes and laundry go...maybe it's the feeling of accomplishment of finishing a project and having something to show for it, instead of the dishes getting dirty again and the laundry basket full again. But if my crafting was as busy as yours, I'd probably look forward to a day of just laundry lol!
a walk.
On our walk today we saw these amazing poppies. I never plant them and then see them around and wish I had planted them. But I never do. I am lucky to have these near by to visit-and now that I write this I think Pete isn't a huge fan of them (or maybe that is my mom?) I can't remember, I thin...
Funny, Kansas has been the same way...just wish we had a beach to make the nice days a little nicer. Somewhere down my family tree I had a relative that was McCarthy's godmother. Apparently the two families were good friends. Not exactly something I'm proud of, but interesting nonetheless.
beachy fun
We had a lovely time at the beach. It was cloudy and wet in the mornings and clear and sunny in the afternoons. I'm a bit sad at the local weather this morning now that we are back. Portland is so hard this time of year. Sunny and beautiful one day and then wet and cold today. Like wear a swea...
