I am simple and complex, a child and an adult, a thinker and a lover of all things beautiful, creative and real. I am M.
Interests: shoe shopping, i love to read Robert Parker's 'Spencer' mysteries, Shirley Rousseau Murphy's Joe Grey mystery books (he's a cat who can's not a book for children), James Patterson's alex cross episodes, photographing flowers and little children because in some ways, they are both the same; new blooms with beauty in and out, sitting by the Pacific ocean whether in Hawaii or California, shopping in California and Chicago 'cause you can find unbelievable deals on clothes and shoes, reading to kids especially toddlers because you can see their imagination grow in their eyes; if you're really lucky, they will read stories back to you and that is an experience not to be missed, cooking with my friend Veronica and whipping up strange but delicious combinations of food, watching men watching me--surreptitiously of course, learning something new every day no matter how insignificant it may seem, trying to be the best me I can be to benefit someone besides myself

When I was a kid, I was taught to think, to use the brain I was born with and figure things out. My mother wanted to ensure I could function on my own one day, that I could handle as many challenges as life might throw at me. In order to do that, she told me I had to think, be able to see a problem or situation and figure out what to do or how to handle a particular scenario. I was a good kid, but a curious kid. I wanted to see how things worked and didn't always... Continue reading

I think Wi-Fi should be completely FREE!!! People shouldn't have to pay for something that the entire world uses and the entire world is online. Amtrak should get on board with Wi-Fi also. The public shouldn't have to pay for it anywhere, that's just simple greed.
When I was a kid, people were usually true to their word. At least that's what I remember most of the time. Maybe nothing has really changed, maybe I was just too young to see and make sense of things. However, I seem to recall that people were far more honest, reliable and had something called character. I'm a pretty good photographer, been doing it for over 20 years. Several times, I've thought that finally, my big break had arrived and I was on my way to making a real living doing what I truly love. For every exhibit I've... Continue reading

I would name it Ma'kai. Ma'kai means by the sea or seaward. I have lived near the Pacific Ocean for over 30 years and I love to hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore as much as... Continue reading

When I was a kid, I lived (and was loved) in a very small town of about 2,500 people. Everybody knew everyone else and we kids were looked after by the entire town. Nowadays, it seems children have no idea what the word "manners" means, some curse around adults and small children without any regard for their behaviour. The really sad part, it's not always just kids that do it, adults do it too. It often appears that parents don't pay attention to their kids anymore because many allow their children to run rampant in public venues, injure other people,... Continue reading

Apologies for delays in my blog update. I've been traveling quite a bit the last few months, thus the lag time, so sorry. I see that I am being followed so I will make every effort to be more timely in my comments. Upon my return to Maui, HI where I have resided for 6 years, I realized how much I missed being there. I left to come back to the Midwest after being away for 35 years due to lack of work in Hawaii and missing my dear friends too much. Yet, being away for 6 months and going... Continue reading

I think when he had to reveal his real mission to the Na'vi, When the destruction of the Tree of Voices begins, Jake has to make a decision whether to follow orders or stand by Neytiri and the Omaticaya and... Continue reading

OMG!!! I left Maui and came back to the midwest where I'm from to try and find a job (been out of work for almost a year on Maui). I decided to open a bank account here so I can have funds close to me rather than waiting for my deposit to hit my Hawaiian bank. Went to Chase Bank, opened the account last night and was told by a sweet, quite pretty young woman that I could have access to my account today. Yeah, so right. Lies, lies and MORE LIES!!! I took off to the bank this morning,... Continue reading

I'm sure everyone has their own idea of where Pandora may be located. I love that the Chinese government renamed a mountain because of the Avatar movie. There are many places on earth, some unknown and hopefully, still undiscovered that are indescribably lush and filled with other-worldly life, i.e., geckos and cane spiders as big as a human's hand (not an exaggeration, I've seen one). From my vantage point, Maui, Hawaii is just such a place. There are places on Maui that seem to defy description in time and space. Right now it's whale season and whether you're on a... Aloha all, and a special Aloooohaaaa to Miley. I'm headed back to Hawaii in another month, my own version of Pandora. People are kind, weather is fantastic and the best part? Races of all kinds mix well. Hawaiians, Samoans, Filipinos, Japanese, Blacks and Caucasians, live together, mix together and life is just a lot better. Wish I could live in the sky and ride a Pterodon, that's my current fantasy right now. Continue reading

I am far more aware than I've ever been of how people perceive each other. What bothers me so very much is that we as humans never seem to learn. We continue to do the same things over and over... Continue reading

I am a happy, 62 year-old very attractive female. I have NEVER grown up and NEVER WILL! I am a photographer and I call my work "reflectography". I've had many exhibits primarily on the West Coast and currently have some of my work showing in Chicago, it is my very first time on exhibit in a gallery. I'm proud of my age and how I look (I exercise and try my best to eat well), no one believes my age anyway. I'm not cocky nor arrogant, however, I feel I have earned the right to speak my mind and sometimes I do. My favorite character in Avatar is Neytiri because she is a strong, aware, yet vulnerable female. I love her height and her flexibility. To me, she is a beacon of light and one to be followed and trusted.
How can I learn how to speak Na'vi? Continue reading

I am a water-reflective photographer. I call my work "reflectography" because it accurately reflects my take on society. Things are quite distorted in the world, especially as I am an older kid and things are very out of kilter from when I was growing up. I appreciate differences in others while, admittedly, initially not always accepting easily things and people I know nothing about. Yet, understanding, gaining and giving acceptance and compassion is the best part of being a human being. It's all about love, no matter what color, size, sexual orientation, gender or religiion. We are all searching for... Continue reading
