Hooked on Crochet 19...convex green scrumble...
I toyed with titling this post "This is NOT a nipple tassel" or "How NOT to scrumble a 'AA' bra cup". Yeah... the week has begun a little strange! Mainly I went for a more scientific discription of 'a convex green scrumble' so I didn't get any search engines sending me weirdos looking for ph...

You guys look great... What does your costume look like with the hood up?
The Weekend Five: Couple Costumes
I have to admit that I was a terrible photo-taker at the Halloween Wedding we went to last night. Some of the costumes were mind-blowingly amazing! People went all out! My favorite was a couple who went as the black and white spies from Spy v. Spy. But did I get a photo? Nope. Too bu...
I found this post really interesting. I would love to join an Art Journalers Club as I'm really just a newbie.. I would go to one if there was one near me (UK Midlands). I just wanted to say that I was a teacher when I worked and love the whole teaching/ learning dynamic . When I was doing my teaching degree and doing 'Teaching Practice' in local schools, I remember the most difficult aspect of teaching a class was 'Pace'... i.e. Time management. We got really marked down if we ran out of time and had to rush the end of a class or if we underestimated how long it took to do something because handing out supplies or showning something so everyone can see it takes more time than you think. I've attended several scrapbooking retreats with classes and the best ones are well organised yet flexible, not rushed especially at the end and with time set aside for things that crop up and totally throw the pace of the lesson. As a teacher the worst thing that could happen, pace wise, was to have what was planned to take an hour, be all over in ten minutes! Rare but not impossible, so having an extension activity up my sleeve was a good idea. An optional extra that folks can have a go at if they finish earlier than the rest. All just my two pennyworth :)
Love the blog as always Julie.

Offering Art Journaling Workshops
Last week a woman named Sandy wrote to me and said, "A friend of mine and I are thinking about offering Art Journaling Workshops in our community. Do you have any advice on how to get started?" Since I get variations of this question quite often I thought I'd take some time today to answer it h...
Fab dress in every way. We planned our wedding on a shoestring budget and my dress was made for me by two bffs. I'm 4'11" and nothing would have fit me off the peg so having two friends doing Art and Crafts degrees was a life saver. One made the dress and the other hand embroidered the front bodice panel with satin stitch, teeny pearls and sequins. Over a lace base panel. Then my dress was used year after year as a teaching aid (year One age 5-6 did a topic on 'Celebrations' so it got well handled by many grubby 5 year olds. Eventually I was purging when we were moving house and onlly saved the front panel of the dress (my hubby isn't sentimental) but I do kinda wish I'd saved it... Maybe re-made something else out of it as ot was raw silk fabric but never mind. We have our 21st weddding anniversary coming up and 4dc who are all teenagers so it's all good. Love the blog as always :)

Ruin & Rescue at The Ink Pad
I had a great time at The Ink Pad on Saturday. Take a peek at the inky, painty fun that we had! There's nothing quite like making art with other people! One of my most favorite things! Thanks for stopping by!
That's such a touching story and exactly what scrapbooking is all about. Loved the LO too and it looked fun to make :)
ALICE - Storybook Treasures
Hi Dolly here I was really excited when I knew we were having a bit of an Alice theme and I kind of assumed I would do the obvious Cheshire Cat page. But then it suddenly came to me and I KNEW what I had to record. I am a real bibliophile and find it hard to get rid of any books but I have some...
Wow... I love flapjack and whenever I've made it it was as hard as concrete... Yours really does look delicious and chewy. Tfs.
Cherry Flapjack
After buying the Fabulous Bakin' Boys Flapjack from the supermarket and finding it dissapointing we decided to try some home baking. We made this homemade vesion which had much more flavour. I found the recipe from the river cottage website - (http://www.rivercottage.net/recipes/flapjacks/). I a...

ALICE - A Collaboration of a Different Kind
Hello to you all, Virginia here with a post about Alice on what hopefully will be quite a big day for me (my birthday the big (gulp) four zero - but we won't mention that). Alice has always been my favourite children's story, it was the first story I ever read with no pictures in, at the age of...

Back to School
Hello everyone. How was the Bank Holiday ? I hope you had a good rest. Are you ready for school ? I am not but I will be next week LOL. I am very fond of multipack of ephemera, something that I have built quite a large supply of. I discovered this long lost sheet of monogram alphabets by B...
I thought the face had a look of resigned tragedy and looked strong in adversity. I really liked it. Not ugly but interesting and mysterious. Who wants cute and pretty all the time anyway (not me). Cute toenail polish btw!

The Things You Want to Learn: part 1
I found the comments on April 26 (Wedding Ring) stencil hop post absolutely fascinating. I asked the question, "What is a craft/art supply you'd like to learn more about?" I loved reading all the answers and it sparked a number of thoughts in my mind. I even went so far as to make a list and ...
I really like the double-stamped camera. Looks great and adds dimension beautifully too. I also bought the camera stamp with the idea that I'd use it loads. Not even once, but I am thinking I like how yours turned out so must get inking!

Shimelle's Scrapping weekend
Shimelle's fab starting points were just what I needed to kick that mojo into it's last ditch effort before term re-starts. I have had a lovely scrappy time and have done many of the challenges and plan on completing them all by the deadline of next weekend. The ideas have been simple but inspir...

Wind power
It’s been another glorious day today. The weather seems bizarre in this country at times. October was so warm at the start and then cold and grey and now a stunning mild sunny day in November. And what with the east coast of America struggling with snow storms the world is a little mad. Heck – ...

Late Night Scrapbooking
I've been in work, work, work mode lately. Late last night I decided that it was time to sit down and scrapbook just for fun. I grabbed my August Cocoa Daisy kit and got to work with a favorite photo from Chicago. Here's what I came up with: I love that I managed to fit so much journaling i...
Thanks, Julie. Do you think it would be appropriate to ask people on your blog if there's any UK folks want to order some templates from your shop and ship together? I don't mind co-ordinating at this end (sending the templates on to UK addresses from my house). We often miss out here in England due to such mega shipping costs and import costs too. No worries if you don't think it's a good idea. Your templates may eventually start turning up in shops or online stores over here.
Appreciate you!

Thanks Julie, it's 12 x12 size I'd like to get. I checked the link to the UK shop but they don't stock wonky circles or punchinella. Any more ideas would be appreciated.

Julie, I was really interested to hear you taught about making videos. I really want to make crochet teaching tuts and bought a HD camera recently but am a bit overwhelmed as to where to start. I'd really love some tips and things to avoid etc. You're the only person I've heard of giving advice on making YouTube videos. Yours,

Are you sitting comfortably?
Gosh - not sure where to start today as I have so much I want to say and share LOL. So ... are you sitting comfortably as today's explore prompt was kind of about sitting. So that is where I am going to start. Shimelle challenged us to think about where we sat and what it meant, so that is j...
