oooh that cloth..a feast for the eye wherever I see it
thanks!
the feather is on its way.
the lighter side of darker days
the rain continues. i like the light by the window on dark days. it becomes, more obviously, a gift. i have been sitting with the magic cloth. stitching. and with the feathers that have gathered, off the wall for the moment, to catch a more natural view of what might become. and she thinks...
oh grace, wow
the circling back of August
amazing. i looked back to last year, this month of August, to see what it looked like outside then. but what i found instead was that this time last year i was working on the cloths for Wendy's kids. and here i am again....... .~. i don't know if this will be "right". there was ...

Where am I...?
I just wanted to start looking at what I have done so far and how this month has affected my working. And do some forward thinking. *** audio file in case you see no player above *** alternative video link And then larger cloth. Because of the rain and gloom, we had to use lights to sho...

Ikat stitch continuing
*** audio file in case you see no player above *** *** audio file in case you see no player above *** Isn't this great? I was going to save it for the Boro Workshop but that wouldn't be right. It just happened now, here.....and that is what continuing is about.
storytellers believe in magic. I think it is what it's all about..
magic in may
this month's whispering has me back on track. i am ready to continue. and so is she. it has been many days. i stopped counting. SEW the student forum is back up.
good wishes are being wished here, too. this looks like a very real cloth. grace, you make me smile. (sometimes its a bellylaugh) so thankful.
home from the BubbleMachine
just finished going around all of it, snipping off loosened threads. NOTHING came loose. nothing frayed into oblivion. just as Jude said somewhere, long ago, the threads loosen to a point and then if anything, merge even more into the single Cloth. it is strong.
hey MAN, thanks! hey jude, all the best. may you both be happy.

when going is just going
i have been stitching this all week, just to be stitching. there are nine hearts that were left over from something. on top of some woven and pomegranate dyed cloth leftover from something else. and more stitches than i can count. because time needed to be filled without thinking too much. ...
a star is a hole in the night. the night is the beduin gods carpet that they unroll at the end of the day to drink their tea on, and where the moths have been at it is where the light shines through...stars!

this is so rich..looking at the nine patch suns and remembering the collage star from cwb, and the thoughts about negative space that the collage method of composition brings to mind, I see the sun shape as a variation of the star shape (which is true in real life too)
so I'm whatiffing : make a sun by collaging a sky around it?yeah!
and one more..looking up from my computer I see th large cardboard sun which has been hanging there since I moved into this house, and from the same nail a couple of hearts from mothers day last year..I had stopped noticing them. This is what you do to me..noticing again.wonderful!
Night and Day
I'm taking it slow, just more thinking. I've done a bit more thinking about #1, that simple corner sun. Which maybe isn't so simple after all. audio file in case you see no player above audio file in case you see no player above *** The corn...

I went to the post office- the box was chock-full of wishes for the wishing cloth. Thank you so much, everyone! Some teachers have sent me little looms and cloth scraps with wishes on them made by their schoolchildren in classrooms.. I have started stitching, and experimenting with the plac...
