Your and Paul's legs in the photo make an optical illusion that those are your legs since you can see yourself in the mirror. I did a double take! Love the wreath, makes me wish I lived near a beach!
i got the wreath up.
It broke into eight pieces on the drive back home. But a little hot glue and a few yards of fishing line later, it's hanging above my mantle. Check plus.
Great timing, I'm catching up on all my blog readings right now. Today was my last day of classes and I only have a couple finals that shouldn't be too harsh next week. Hope you have a great finish to school and hopefully we both can pick up blogging over the break!
what I want for christmas
How is it December already? This semester has flown by. As I get older, it sure gets harder to decide what I want for Christmas. I also have noticed how the past few Christmases I have wanted more and more things for the kitchen. This must be adulthood. I decided to take a break from the massi...
Those decorations are insane. I'm glad you showed pictures otherwise I wouldn't have had such a good laugh at those. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving with 'normal' decorations ;)
thanksgiving 2011
As I prepare to spend this Thanksgiving with my loved ones, I am so incredibly thankful to be home this year. Last year I was deployed and I believe we flew that night. I woke up early before our late night show time and ended up at the DFAC without anyone I knew. I was a little irritated that t...
That's funny yall both did close ups of nature. Both picture have such pretty color.
oh snap: close up
Happy Friday, I'm here with another photo challenge reveal. Click here for the full list of prompts. Obviously since Kerry lives in a warmer climate she still had pretty flowers to take photos of. In contrast, my photo is a close up of some wet leaves the day I was doing my walking tour of L...
That's an incredible photo. The colors are gorgeous!
Crazy busy
Last night I had to work. I wasn't really wanting to work because all I could think about were the gazillion things I needed to do. I still wasn't that pumped to go fly until I stepped out of the building and saw this ridiculous sunset. Absolutely gorgeous. I was immediately less stressed about ...
I'm jealous this is your last semester. How are you going to celebrate?
Some days are definitely slower than others, running with my boyfriend sometimes help me increase my pace to match his (he's a lot faster than me naturally). I also figured out that starting out too fast tires me out midway through so I try to keep an even pace and run the last .75 mile fast with a sprint at the end. I hope this helps somewhat, the best advice my bf has given me is treat it like it's a race, especially at the end.
November
ugg I'm so behind on this.. NOVEMBER BRINGS: new running goals (breaking 16 mintues 10 seconds for 2.10 miles) 2+(?) trips to the ranch the last 2 home football games my wonderful mother's day of birth THANKSGIVING! and of course a boat load of school work (I can feel the end of semester work s...
Hooray you're back. It sounds like a really interesting topic to do. I love the last image on the left. Buildings always look so interesting in b&w.
hello!
I am back from my blogging break! Schew... that last paper was KILLER! Getting back into the groove of school has been a bit more challenging than I thought. What I've found even more difficult is getting my brain back into analytical thinking and paper writing mode. For this last paper I had to...
Gosh Elise, you're such an inspiration to attempt a marathon. I'm a runner myself and have really enjoyed hearing about your relationship with running over the past couple of months. After reading this post, I have decided 100% that once I graduate college I'm going to train for at least a 1/2 marathon. Thanks for all the insight!
on the nike women's half marathon.
This was my second half marathon. I ran my first last June. I could not have had more opposite experiences with the two. For that first one, I was scared because I didn't know what to expect. I had done relatively well with my training, which meant I had ran 3-4 times a week including one lo...
Good luck with school! I finally hit a spot where I get to catch my breathe before I have to dedicate all time to classes once again. I hope you find eventually find some down time too, especially for some pinterest. hah I look forward to you getting back to blogging.
blogging break
School is killing me lately. I have a big paper due next week, a project due today, and I have to go to a design charette this weekend. Oh... and I'm working everyday too. Awesome! I'm hoping to push through this next week of heavy duty school stuff and make more time for blogging. Kerry is cr...
These look fantastic. I may just have to make them this weekend! Thanks for sharing.
40 loaves / soft pretzel tots.
Bread no. 26 : soft pretzel tots. Adjustments : cut this recipe in half. True, I have the parents to share with, but it's becoming carb-central around here. Substituted 3/4 C whole wheat flour for white. Went a bit overboard on the salt. Notes : since my 40 loaves deadline is looming, I...
Keep at it! I want to try paddle-boarding so badly. I'm super jealous.
workout challenge - week dos
Last week I told you about the workout challenge I have begun. I am keeping up ok. Last week I did miss a day of the pushups, situps and squats. I'm already 1/2 through week 3 and.... well.... let's just say it's harder to motivate myself when I am actually at home. Here I am surrounded by a gaz...
I love that verse! Thanks for sharing it.
College is Hard.
College is hard. I have had a very hard week. and I don't understand how people do school AND work. insanity. This week was very humbling. It's the fourth week of classes and I feel like a ton of bricks hit me. My cultural foundations class is pretty easy to manage and I didn't even have ethics ...
I'm impressed you're working out while in Puerto Rico. I try to work out regularly but the weekends are the hardest because it's a break from the normal grind of the week. I want to get Nike+, but do you have to have Nike shoes to be able to do it? Keep it up! those pushup numbers are seriously impressive.
workout challenge - week uno
Hola amigos! Estoy en Puerto Rico. Hace mucho calor, pero tambien mucho lluvia. Ok... enough of my choppy not-so-good Spanish. I am in Puerto Rico for work (terrible I know) and I started a workout challenge while I was here. Not the most opportune time to start such a thing, but what the heck I...
The movie was incredible. It was so neat to watch you work and see how you do things, especially that tape. I need to get me some of that fast! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait till I have some time to actually make one of your mini-books, they look so special and an awesome-ly unique way to chronicle what's going on during that season.
autumn minibook update #3.
I'm continuing to make progress on this autumn minibook even though the San Diego weather is hardly cooperating. I'm looking forward to October and November, that is for sure. I brought the red envelope up to the front because I had a personal story that I wanted to include. I'm not ready...
Wow these turned out so neat! The next time I have some down time I definitely want to try this, it sounds pretty easy to try. I love the brown & orange one, very autumn-ish.
tie dye with bleach
Today we have another fun project by Kerry. She took some linen remnants that she got at her local fabric store and tie dyed them with bleach. She used the same technique you use when doing regular tie dye: crinkle up or scrunch your fabric and wrap a bunch of rubber bands around the fabric ...
Good luck with all your work! I hope it's productive for both of us.
H-town bound
Later this afternoon I leave for Houston for the weekend. I haven't been home since the beginning of August and haven't seen my parents in a month! I know my mom is supppper excited for me to come up & I'm really looking forward to the long weekend. I plan on: - catching up on sleep - get a bi...
Ah Elise I loved this! I always stick to the same teas because I'm fearful of trying out new ones and hating them! But I'm definitely going to the try ones that you suggested. Thanks for linking the metal tea infuser, I've been looking for one everywhere and haven't been able to find any for a price I can agree with.
adventures in tea.
In August, I tweeted that I was looking for new teas to try. Kal suggested David's Tea and then while I was up in Winnipeg, I was able to go to the David's Tea storefront. Safe to say, prior to a visit there I knew next to nothing about tea. Okay, I knew something about tea - but that somethin...
Ha I totally agree with you, Labor Day should be labor free! I spent my day also doing homework. You would think teachers would go out of their way not to assign homework this weekend, but I guess that's asking too much.
did you have a labor free day?
my messy desk full of mostly school work I personally think that yesterday should be called "labor-free day". Isn't that the point? Aren't we supposed to relax and get an extra day off without working? Anyway... my day was free from actually going into work, but it was unfortunately full of wo...
