So glad you survived such a tough assignment. BTW did I mention that I hate you? Seriously, great job J. Video looks great and I am still waiting for the other media you shot to be delivered to my in box. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
Miss America Contestants in boots
Special B5 audience preview. Warrior Legacy Foundation will be sending out a press release about the photo shoot and participation of the Miss America contestants in the When They Come Back campaign (check out the cool new website). The shoot was a blast, the ladies were amazing and brought ener...
Wow. Where to start. Pompous? Arrogant? Self-important? All of the above? Uncle J, some of my fondest memories of you involve beer and some form of dead charred animal flesh. I am not ready to give that up. If it's on my plate, it better have had a pulse at some point!
Ethical vegan- It's what's for dinner
This guy is my new favorite post-human. LATELY more people have begun to express an interest in where the meat they eat comes from and how it was raised. Were the animals humanely treated? Did they have a good quality of life before the death that turned them into someone’s dinner? Actually, I ...
Great interview, really bad tie. I told him as much when I spoke to him after the show. It needs to be burned and the ashes scattered to the four winds.
Jeremiah Workman on Fox and Friends
Jeremiah was on the show this AM to talk about his book Shadow of the Sword. Nice tie buddy.
Spot on Uncle J. I remember when I first heard about this book. It was on a bus in Nashville and some holier-than-thou individual was giving Workman a ration about a "Catcher in the Rye" reference. It sure has been a long, strange trip!!! I can't wait to see what the next installment brings.
Shadow of the Sword- Book Review
Jeremiah Workman's book Shadow of the Sword is officially out today. I got a review copy a few weeks back and plowed through it non-stop over a weekend. It is an odd feeling to read a book when you have heard all the stories in it first hand, but it held my attention and took me along for his ...
I think I just may be able to get you that signed copy. I do owe you for a few books you got me.
Marine Turned Author: Shadow of the Sword Ships Tuesday! 9/15/2009
This is someone you should know. This is a book you should have. This is a catalog of the path of the stories we've (MTD) written on a Great Marine. Long Awaited, Long Anticipated, Shadow of The Sword by SSgt Jeremiah Workman with John Bruning will finally ship Tuesday. SSgt Workman is a regu...
I would like to nominate John T for War On Terror News, found here: http://waronterrornews.typepad.com/home/
And also Bouhammer, who just recently made his way to a new format, found here: http://bouhammer.multiply.com/
On a personal note, I am glad we can't nominate BF. Uncle J's head can barely fit through the door now!!!!
Contest: Best Milblog You've Never Heard Of
UPDATED/BUMPED: We are getting a lot of good suggestions, but hope you will have a few more. Let's face it: If you know of milblogs, you know the Mudville Gazette, Blackfive, Michael Yon, and a few more. These are the sites that get the traffic, and as a result the readership. If you follo...
I didn't count the references, but my favorite was the nod to Doug Adams and the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy series. And you are right. According to the NYT, Palin can do no right. Damned if you do and so on. As for me, I'd rather be snorting coke off a hookers ass.
Mr. Blackwell Dead, Mr. Uncle Jimbo on fashion
Podcast of this rant is here. In what may be the sorriest attack of a sorry campaign by the NY Times wing of the Obama camp, they have a front page story about Sarah Palin's freaking wardrobe. If she showed up in boots and Levis they would call her a hick. I would call that smokin' hot. If she u...
I must say I am glad I didn't see this side of Madison when I was there for the 9/11 event. It would have been great fun though!! Now don't be too hard on him UJ, he has obviously had a few too many blows to the head already. And BTW GO BLUE!!!!
I got Moonbats
Madison is basically a free-range moonbat sanctuary so I run into them fairly regularly. Well they are planning a Madison Winter Soldier fiasco for this Saturday and were out at the University pimping it. I stopped to chat, and well you know what comes next. This kid was particularly clueless ...
Being Catholic, Carlins bits about the church always had me rolling. He will be missed indeed. No if you will excuse me I am off to eat some new Nibisco Tits!!!!!
Carlin was my kind of American
One of the funniest people in America died. Of course I loved George Carlin, he was the first comedian I got. And even though I shared little political ground with him, I do share his complete and utter mistrust of our government and more so our politicians. He hated them for all the right reaso...
Thanks for the link Uncle J. I had a blast. And if I ever figure out the correct way to do that power brake thing, I'll give ya a shout! Hope you can make the trip up at the end of the month, I'll put the Jack on ice. Till then, Don't Quit!!!
More people I have met
I have done an awful job of keeping track of the dozens of Blackfive readers I have met while traveling for the past couple of weeks. You guys are everywhere and I haven't always had a notebook around to write names down. If I should throw you a link and haven't, PLEASE ping me and remind me, it...
