somewhere
I love american musicals, and close to the top of the list is West Side Story - an innovative score by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by the greatest american composer Stephen Sondheim, groundbreaking choreography... most of the wongs in West Side Story have become standards, performed by many of the best... I could never commit to something like NaNoWriMo - I'm impressed by those of you who do. best I can do is NaBloPoMo.
I hope this is not the last year you do NaNoWriMo; its a good exercise in commitment, discipline, and writing even when the muse is being fickle.
best of luck!
Going it alone
It looks like I'll be doing nanowrimo alone this year. My friend C. has moved onto bigger and better things, and I really can't convince anyone else to pursue writing for a month. Either they have no interest in writing, no ideas for writing, or feel they're too busy to write daily. It happen...
I stood 20 feet from Ralph Stanley...

Dan Savage' itgetsbetter project in YT
updated 20100924@15:40 - what this post needs is a theme song. take it away, Ms. Jill Dan Savage has done many good things (remember Santorum?) and spearheaded many worthy causes, but the itgetsbetterproject is likely to be his crowning achievement. take a bow, Dan. in memory of Billy Lucas, the... from the Color Me Surprised Department
Sanchez will lead the combined company, while Six Apart CEO Chris Alden plans to leave. Six Apart cofounder Mena Trott is joining the Say Media board, which isn’t otherwise changing. (As Business Insider, which first reported rumors of a deal, noted, the two companies already share some investors, including prominent... Continue reading

I am in love with Darren Hanlon's new album
so much so that I haven't even given the new Grnderman disc the attention I'd promised it. 02 Modern History I only discovered him a week ago.......... I think he looks like he should be Russell Crowe's little brother. I wish he'd come to Philly, what does he have against Philly?

what is the time? it is grinding time~
Grinderman 2 is here. on the first few listens, it comes across a bit milder than Grinderman - not as dissonant and electrified. more melodic and a bit tender. the influence of NC & The Bad Seeds is noticeable, same as Grinderman had a marked influence on Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!... Continue reading

I was thinking that We Call Upon the Author has several chori of "doo doo doo doo doo doo" or p'haps "doot doot doot doot doot doot doot". I believe a judge needs to call it.
blogging hiatus
Maybe this is a bad strategy, but now that I have everything from Vox backed up this seems like a good time to take a short break from blogging. And not a break like last April, when I half-heartedly posted every four or five days because of a sense of obligation. I'm talking about a real brea...
