So appreciating your photography along with the encouragement from our daily chapter of Proverbs. God's people are seeking him - together. Thanks for leading the way.
40 Days Rigging Our Sails / Day 4 / Prov. 4
Proverbs 4:26-27 - Watch your step. Stick to the path and be safe. Don’t sidetrack; pull back your foot from danger.
Grateful to be at your side, carrying this conviction and value that people matter to God - so they matter to us!
First Impressions Last, and Last, and Last, and Last.
(L to R): Jason Wilson, Mike Stemm, Mark Waltz & Nancy Tucker "All you Christians, missionaries and all, must live more like Jesus Christ." - Mahatma Gandhi Gandhi : Portrayal of a Friend, Abingdon Classics, E. Stanley Jones First impressions last. There's no doubt about it. Even if...
Thanks for these amazing captures of a memorable 2 days. Not pictured: your clarifying, course-setting opening talk. Thanks for your leadership - and the gift of these memories.
RE-INNOVATE 2012 / "Arts Mash-up" and More
Bruce Cole was one of many attending GCC's ReInnovate Conference this week. As the Pastor of Faith Community Church he wrote on Facebook: "I don't ever overblow or oversell conference experiences. Usually those mountain top experiences degrade a bit when you're back working in the valley. Gotta...
Amazzzing. Thanks for sharing! What an experience. What photos.
An Exciting Moment
As Sheila and I are perched on the bow of our little boat - looking for Humpback whales in the distance - this huge Humpback breeches right beside our boat. It almost lands on us, making for a very exciting moment captured in this series of pictures. I don't know if I'll ever look "up" at a Hu...

Mark - Know that Laura and I are praying with you. Hate this grief you must experience. Hanging on to our shared hope during this time of Advent. Our someday is your mom's today.
And On A Personal Note...
My mother died this morning. Sitting quietly at her breakfast table, she just laid her head down and went Home. I know for the first time in more than a dozen years she is without confusion and filled with the joy of a life well-lived. She always chose to walk The Jesus Way ... and she still ...
Succinctly insightful. Thanks, Kathy.
Safety
I've been thinking about safety a lot lately. What doors should be locked; when is it right to make it convenient to enter our building, and when is it foolish to let ourselves be obviously vulnerable? What people do we help; when is it right to help someone get a ride to church, and when is it...
Kathy - Thanks for this post.. for all your post. Everything you write speaks to the value of worth, value and grace. People matter. You and Jeff matter. Thanking God for you and Jeff today.
Thankful for Interruptions
I've been thinking about death a lot lately. It's just such a strange thing that with a breathe, people are here and then they're not. They're just gone. Really? That's it? Life on this earth is done, "Thanks for coming." We pretty much go through life with the perspective that it never ends. Ye...

Mark - what an incredible opportunity for you... and for the rest of the photo safari group (to have you along on their expedition)! Love the pics; looking forward to seeing all of them. The snake shot was - yikes! - incredible. Can't wait to hear that story!
God's best - praying for you and Sheila!
"Bach" Camp
From 1974-1977, Wyman lived here alone. Based in this tiny one-room cabin, he trapped and hunted in solitary retreat, but his trek away from civilization was more in keeping with the spirit of the ancient desert fathers than the bent of a recluse. Wyman's journey followed a path of hard work...
I hate when that happens. Too funny... to me. :-)
Lotion in a Bottle
Maybe you'e seen a bull elk; maybe not. If you have, you may have wondered how they get their hair to look like that. It's so "wet" looking. It flows and shimmers. It appears to have been treated in such a way that it has remarkable "hold," as if a product was applied that'll make it stay...
Thanks for this post, Kathy. This nails it. Focusing on letting go, only tends to tighten our grip on what we say we need to release. Holding onto Jesus. Accepting his embrace. That's the answer. Appreciate the safe environments you're creating to help people experience their worth in Jesus so they can become holier... you-ier.
Hold On to Let Go
"Surrendering isn't very easy. It's really hard! I find that I can let things go, but it's like I tie a string to it. I have it tied to my finger so that just in case it goes out of control, I can reel it in. Ya' know?" Letting go is difficult because we are afraid of what will happen if we d...
Loving these pics and brief updates! Praying for you daily - thankful for the blessing of shared journey and your lives. Love to you both!
Words Just Aren't Adequate
Sheila and I have been thanking God all day long. Now I'm thanking you. Our sabbatical is in full swing and we are simply overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you for making this time possible for us! We drove hundreds of miles during the last few days. We talked for hours-and-hours as we lo...
This service to celebrate Ava's life may have been the most meaningful memorial I've ever experienced - albeit online. Isaac led and preached a phenomenal service. Still praying for you, Sheila and your family. Trusting God for your safe travel and restoration.
Ava's Memorial Service / Thursday @ 11:00 AM (EST)
Sheila and I began the sabbatical with deep grief and pain. My sister's granddaughter lost her battle with cancer. Exactly 10 weeks to the day, from her diagnosis of GBM, she left the dust of this earth and entered Glory. Our family is in mourning. Sheila and I arrived in Orlando a few...
