I'm there too. All too often hubby and I are in bed "watching TV" each of us with our respective laptops, he on his interactive barbarian game, I on Facebook, Twitter or the many blogs I like to frequent. We barely talk to each other aside from "I'm going to get something to eat, you want something?" My kids will sit in front of the TV all day if I let them. And if my son isn't in front of the TV, he's playing his PSP or asking to play a game on the computer. It's aggravating! When I call to one of them (my husband included) and they're so absorbed in whatever is flickering on whatever screen is in front of them that they don't hear me, it makes me want to smash that screen just so I don't have to compete with it!!

Thanks so much for your comments. It's not an easy thing to talk about. Yes, I've found that it does come on slowly and only after a few weeks do I realize what's happening. I don't think mine is as extreme as yours as I don't always feel this way, but I've watched my husband struggle through for years. He's on meds for it and I've seen him react well to some meds, and not so well to others. Now that I'm aware of it, I'm trying out the non-medication solutions first. I'm finding that the more time I spend outside in the sun, the better I feel. I will definitely check out your post, though. Thanks!!

I'm wearing a mask, can you see it? I bet you can't cause I'm pretty good a blending in. But I'm going to let you get a peek at what's behind my mask and the masks of lots of other... Continue reading

I don't want to turn this into a pitch for my business (this isn't the place for it) but if you're interested in learning more about Tastefully Simple, you can contact me directly at jcmiller062300 at gmail dot com. That's the email I have specifically for my business. I can't find a way to contact you directly or I would have already. Thanks!

If I may, I am a consultant for Tastefully Simple and I agree with you on many of these points, but not all. As one of those moms who has a side business, I will tout the flexibility of my schedule (I work the days I want to work) and the opportunity to make good money (if you're willing to work it), but I'm not always on my friends to buy. Your first customers, yes, they will be your friends and family, but after that, you branch out to their friends and family and then their friends and family and before you know it, complete strangers are calling you asking for your next available dates. (I've had that happen to me a couple of times!) In today's economy yes, it's difficult to ask people to buy your wares, but if they really want it, they'll find a way to make it work. And if they can't, they won't. Most people understand that this is your business and they have to choice to buy or not. Don't sweat it, really!

I was just thinking of writing a post about this very subject for the NYC Moms Blog except that mine would have been titled, "Dear Mother Nature, I hate you. Please pack your sh*t and LEAVE!" I can't wait until mine goes away! That was one of the best parts of being pregnant! I admire you for coming out of your comfort zone to talk about this! Nicely done!

Congratulations on a quiet and peaceful lunch date with your daughter. I'm sure most moms will agree with me where when I say that it's quite a feat and I wish you many more successful lunch dates with her. :)

I tell people that my favorite age is between birth and age one. They can't talk back and they can't run away. We are in the midst of the terrible twos... and potty training. Shoot me now? Please??

Haha! Very cute! I go through the same thing with my seven year old. He's always chapping and his chap stick is cherry flavored (hence, tinted red). Now your image of a deranged old lady will now stick in my mind every time he puts it on and I will most likely laugh to myself whenever I see him like this!

See what it takes for the big name companies to notice and take action??? I should post my issues with UPS. I hope this all works out for you. Lugging around wet wash is no fun at all...
