Here's a few things rattling around my cranium from this past week... - March Madness is here! The TV will be tuned into basketball non-stop for the next weeks...and then till June with the NBA playoffs. - First Game: Upset. Gotta love the tourney. Warren Buffet is already breathing a little easier. However, I did pick Dayton over OSU mainly because I hate the Buckeyes. - My Final Four Picks: Florida, MSU, Wisconsin, Duke with the Gators over the Blue Devils. - Part of our staff time today...practicing a Hoedown. Hope to see you at the JAAC's this Sunday night... Continue reading

My kids are excited today since Frozen came out on video...don't know why since we didn't buy it for them or anything. They'll probably get it from the Easter bunny or something?!?! Anyways... since I have to listen to this song non-stop, you should join in too. So here you go: Continue reading

Say a few thoughts today from Toby Mac.... If you think today is all about the color green, consider the man behind Saint Patrick's Day. Saint Patrick was captured and taken as a slave to Ireland, escaped, then returned to love and serve the very people who enslaved him. Continue reading

Here's a few thoughts from my week... - I had a few more vacation days this week to burn. Use 'em or lose 'em by the end of this month. So I had a relaxing week. I did a few projects around the house, took the kids to the GR musuem to see the Dino exhibit, hair cut, I had a gift certificate from Steph for a massage that I cashed in, and went into Eli's class to help out one day. Good mental break. - I got all caught up on Revolution. The last few episodes were good. The... Continue reading

Here a few random things roaming around my mind grapes from this past week... - We didn't take a vacation this past summer because we bought a dog and a fence. We're also saving up for a big Disney Trip. So I have some vacation days to burn before the end of the month so I've been off all week! Yeah me. - Today I took a trip down to the beach to experience the movie Frozen first hand. I haven't been down there this winter. It was crazy but I was the only one out there so it was... Here's a few random thoughts from my week: - The wild winds are making our yard look like the mountian at the Olympics. Our dog bit it into a snow drift today. We also our own private ice rink at the bottom of our driveway. - I saw some upper 30's on the extended 15 day forecast. I don't really believe it though. - Jimmy Fallon is doing a great job with the Tonight Show so far. Good funny stuff. - We shot a Journey Staff video today. Good fun. Lots of laughs. You'll see it next Sunday. - I'll... Continue reading

Here's a few random thoughts from my week: - I don't really like figure skating so the Winter Olympics get less and less of my viewing time as it goes on. I have a hard time with all the trick skiing/snowboard stuff too. It all looks hard to me and I have a hard time connecting with the scoring! But hey...GO USA! - Second half of the NBA season is here. It looks like it's down to OKC vs. Miami. If anyone is going to unseat those teams, it would be SA, GS, or IND. - I hope the Pistons... In the age of our "me-first" society and with the ego of most stars, this stood out and I find it very interesting. I saw this on ESPN.com today: As he strives to win his first league MVP award and to keep his Oklahoma City Thunder atop the Western Conference standings, Kevin Durant is ready for a new nickname. Just call him "The Servant" from now on, the star forward told Grantland's Bill Simmons. "I like to serve everybody. My teammates. Ushers at the game. The fans," Durant said in an interview Friday, when asked why he chose "The Servant"... Continue reading

Here's a few random thoughts from my week: - Emma really likes the Olympics...including curling. I actually like curling because there is strategy to it. I don't enjoy Olympic events when they deal with a judges result as much. - I don't like that the Pistons fired Mo Cheeks. I like longevity and consistency. I think this means Dumars will be gone after this year. I still think Bill Laimbeer deserves a shot to coach. - I have heard a lot of talk about the NFL draft too. I don't like drafting for need or for potential. I think draft... Continue reading

Here's a few things growing in my mind grapes... - This past week & a half has been odd and crazy. I've had a dumb cold and my schedule is out of whack. - I hope I have my voice back before Sunday. - Last week I talked about "Why do bad things happen?" It's hard because you feel you can't do it justice in a sort amount of time. This week...Why didn't God answer my prayer? Another big one. - We had some painting done...the main areas. After 7 years of the kids (and me) dinging up the walls,... Continue reading

This past Sunday we talked about life when bad things happen. Sometimes life is complicated and hard. God never promised life would be easy but He did promise we can find hope in Him because He can overcome this world. This is my friend Aaron's story: Here's a little more. Continue reading

I said "WOW" about 10 times during the game yesterday. I wasn't surprised that Seattle won but they dominated. Big plays all round. Listening to post-game interviews and seeing the play on the field, I have a lot of respect for Pete Carroll and his coaching job. He has them buying into the team concept and everyone is working hard with personal accountability. Enough though it was a blow out, I thought it was interesting (at least until the 4th quarter). Too things I was disappointed about: 1) I can't eat as much as I use to be able to... Continue reading

Here's a few random thoughts bouncing around my brain... - Superbowl Weekend: I'm excited because the game should be really good. If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet on this game. It seems too close to call for me. - Also important: I hope there are good commercial and I hit up Meijer early this morning so I have good snacks ready to go for the game. - I haven't watched hardly any hockey this year. I not even sure who all in on the Wings. I should probably pay attention. I would like to go to the... Continue reading

Life is hard. It's hard to live differently now but it will get easier. It might seem easy to quit now but it will be hard later. It's going to be hard either way so don't give up. Take it in small steps & it might seem unnatural at first. But if you don't give up you will reap the harvest. Continue reading

Here's some mind marbles rolling around my melon: - I forgot what the sun was like...it's cold but nice out. - Heard Bill Laimbeer on Mike & Mike this morning. He was talking about 80's/90's NBA vs. today's NBA. I watched a 80's Celtics/Lakers match up on NBA Classics...wasn't as good as I remember it. Todays NBA is really solid. Media tries to make it superstar driven but there is good team basketball. Those are the teams that are winning. - The Pistons need to start to understand that concept. - Kevin Durant is a high class superstar & he's... Continue reading

One more reminder for this week... Life is hard and messy. Situations can feel overwhelming & can end up controlling our thoughts & actions. You might feel like you want to move forward BUT it seems like everything & everyone is working against you. Remember, IF God is for you, who can be against you? If you want to conquer life & it's challenges, it all through Him. Move from being controlled by life to conquerring the challenges of life. Be propelled to the possibilities of your best life in a relationship with God. Continue reading
