Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear about your friend. I was a real fan of Mr. Schieder. We keep losing so many of my favorite actors. This year alone - Andy Griffith, Ernest Borgnine, Celeste Holm. So sad.

It’s about labels, not legalities (and not Adam). My husband and I use different names (always have) - yet after 25 years and counting, I still get the stink eye during introductions. Some people even think it’s not legal for a woman to use her own name (like our local power company who get their knickers all in a knot every time I call). I find it all a bit sexist, actually. Mu husbands never questioned – just me. Women are subjected to labels so much more than men – and that’s what Amy’s article is about - labels. I do love her use of the word outré. You have to call yourself something (society insists upon it) – and ‘outré’ just seems to suit the situation.

I really liked Kupono too. Such an elegant, emotional dancer. That 'Addiction' piece wouldn't have worked as well with any one else, I’m thinking. He connected with it fully - as he did with everything. I wish him great luck in his career.

She deserves more money.....but saying that, I still think she made a Suzanne Somers kind of mistake. Paula needs that show - and they need her. I’m with Ricky - I think she was bluffing and they called it. Unfortunately, Paula doesn’t seem to be a very good poker player. Pity. She was part of the chemistry that made Idol work. Another jump the shark moment for me.

People said the exact same things about Elvis back in the day. That's why he was only ever shown from the waist up. All that 'gyrating' was considered too sexy - especially for kids. Everything old is new again.

Oh - sorry. I missed that one of the winners boasted she was an Adam fan. How classless of her!

Rickey - where did you read that it was just Adam's fans doing this? The link you provided isn’t specific on ‘who’. In fact - Megan's mom's post was rather generic. She doesn't point a finger at any one group – just says she’s sorry she has to end the contest. Am I missing something? It's a shitty thing to do no matter whose fans participated. Megan (not to mention her mom) deserves respect. And I’m sorry to hear Adam's being stalked! This kind of thing always happens when political figures begin bashing Hollywood and entertainers in general (is there another election coming up?). Nut cases turn those generalizations into specific hatreds (Adam + gay = hate). I hope Adam has good protection. Frankly – A.I. needs to publicize this so fans don't take umbrage (though I guess they reason that might encourage more stalkers). I've read lots of complaints lately from fans about Adams being whisked away by bodyguards after the show. You’d think A.I. producers would have expected something like this to happen sooner or later and made provisions.

Thanks, Rickey. Love, love, love Ms. Lennox! Her voice is delicious - instantly recognizable. I only wish she'd record more - maybe go back on tour.

Didn't like this one bit; which is unusual for me - I really like Shane's work. NappyTabs have shown that hip hop doesn't always have to be about violence (especially towards women). They danced it well - but the whole break her arms and strangle her thing really turned me off.

I actually liked this (his lifts are always amazing) - but Evan really needs to be choreographed in his own style just once, don't you think? I mean look at his solos. The guy can really dance. Hope he makes it through to next week.

Not an ounce of sincerity in any part of him. Every word was scripted. He did what he was told to do, period. The only thing he's sorry for is the personal inconvenience. And I'm with Ally - they always hit again - always. Asshat should have done time.

I grew up with Cronkite. Another bright light lost. You can add Gale Storm and Mollie Sugden to the mix as well. They passed away around the same time as Farrah and Michael. So sad. I'm afraid to see who's gonna be next. You know - after Paul Newman died, I called my best friend and said 'you wait - Joanne Woodward will likely pass soon.' Haven’t you noticed? Couples married a very long time often pass within a couple years of one another. What with all the losses this year - I can't help but wonder. God must be diversifying into film production. TCM's memory reel will have far too many stars in it come Christmas.

According to Joe - both he and Katherine will be raising the children. After some of the things LaToya said happened - I'd keep those kids as far away from Joe Jackson as I could. Makes me wonder just how safe they're going to be.

I always liked Kupono (you can really feel him when he dances) - but this is the first time I liked Kayla as well. Beautifully choreographed and danced - absolutely stunning. One of Mia’s best. She’s in rare form this year.

Got some buff arms going there. Looks like Adam's been working out a bit. And that voice! I LOVE his lower range. Baritone all the way up to countertenor - Adam's range is un-freakin'-believable!

Well that was over way too soon! God - I wish he'd record a version of 'Supermassive Black Hole'. I can actually hear him singing it. What a voice! Once in a lifetime folks. Keep hold of those programs and ticket stubs. Someday they’ll be worth a fortune.

Fox is repeating AI’s Jackson tribute week on Monday. Good for them. And Nigel gave a very moving eulogy for both Farrah and Michael tonight on SYTYCD (he included Ed McMahon as well). Very classy. You know - I was never a fan of Michael when he was a kid - but I adored him as a solo artist. ‘Thriller’ came out when I was living in Japan. The entire country went nuts for Michael. Thriller played in all the clubs - and I danced along with everyone else. Then came his crazies and he lost me. I just couldn't separate the music from the man. I don't know if the allegations were true - but add in his increasingly odd behavior - and it seemed possible. I guess we'll never know for sure. I do hope it's the music he's remembered for, however. The man was a true genius. He changed the face of popular music forever. We have him to thank for artists like Usher and Ne-Yo: Singer/Dancers; performance artists who do so much more than just follow a melody. Farrah broke ground in her own way. She was one of the first TV actors to demand better treatment (money, scripts) – and she up and quit when they didn’t give it to her. I still remember her in ‘The Burning Bed’. That film did a hell of a lot in underlining the consequences of domestic violence. Farrah never did the easy or usual. I’m truly very sorry she’s gone. RIP Michael and Farrah. You are in my prayers tonight.

I love Jib/Jab! That was funny and cute. I think it would make President Obama laugh (it certainly did me!). Go Obama go!

Assaulting a stranger in the street would have meant jail time. But a woman he’d had a relationship with? No problem! A little slap on the wrist, and not one damn day in jail. Well what about the next time he does this – ‘cause he will, you know – you can bet on it. Someday some poor woman is gonna feel that guy’s fists. They always do it again, you know. It likely wasn’t the first time he hit Rihanna. Just goes to show - throw a little money at anything and you can make it go away.

She was terrible on Eli Stone. Cringe-inducing. I was actually expecting the opposite. It amazed me her handlers would let her do something that bad. Didn't anyone have eyes (or ears)? I really hope she's improved markedly - or I'll be putting the TV on mute!

I don't think anyone's taken care of her, Hester - and they should have. The poor woman suffers from cognitive impairment (brain damage at birth) - meaning it takes her a bit longer to process things. BGT producers knew this. They should have assigned people to help her. Instead they just trotted her out like a show pony. When things got difficult - Susan was on her own. I feel terribly sorry for her. She must feel like she’s drowning. I really hope this doesn’t turn tragic. If she’s abandoned – the sudden loss of her dream could prove too much. I’m beginning to have a bad feeling about all this.

Poor woman. She's disabled, you know - an accident during birth. It affects her cognitive abilities (here in the states she’d have been put in special ed classes). I'd say that makes her unable to cope with today's kind of celebrity world. Things move to damn fast for her to grasp. She needs tons of people to help carry that burden - but all she gets are those who want to make a quick buck. I'm terribly sorry for her. Her dream is fast becoming a nightmare. All the poor woman ever wanted was to sing for the Queen, make records and give the odd concert or so. Now.....it's tabloid hit after tabloid hit, people taking advantage at every turn - with no one interested in standing up to help HER. Next we hear she'll be in a sanatorium for good.

Very true! I lived in Yokosuka, Japan for a number of years. The correct pronunciation leaves out the "su" sound - so instead of Yo-Ko-Su-Ka it's pronounced Ya-kose-ka - with the accent on the second syllable. (Please pardon my inexact phonetics). I love her name (and her fabulous dancing!).

Interesting story on how the recording came about. I took particular notice of these quotes: Nick has performed the program twice, and Adam came to one of the shows to see it. "After seeing the performance, he couldn't thank me enough for giving him the opportunity to do this," said Nick. So what is the glam rocker like in person? "He is great -- very humble," said Nick. "I watched him do endless performances here in L.A., all for charities and benefits." Hmmmm. Doesn't sound like 'diva' behavior to me (as regards that earlier post). Just thought I'd mention it. As for the skating clip....stunning. Simply stunning. I've always adored Nick's romantic style. His performance is just beautiful. Couple it with Adam’s impeccable vocals and you have a masterpiece. Makes me sad Nick's retired from competition. Thanks for posting this, Rickey.
