As some of you probably know, I‘m celebrate winter solstice every year. For me it is one of the 3 big celebration days: summer solstice, birthday and winter solstice. So today, at 6:30 p.m. the sun reached it‘s lowest angle over the horizon. As a consequence, today we will only have 8 hours and 5 minutes sunlight in my country, at least in theory :-) But of course it is cloudy. Nevertheless, we will celebrate tonight, having a nice meal, honey Mead and lots of candles. I wish you all a beautiful day :-)

Seeing you in that play was a great pleasure, and me and my friend enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Zachary for given us this performance. It is good to know that you receive now „official applause“ for it. As we said in NYC to you: it was worth the trip and the play didn‘t su**. :-)))

Happy Star Trek 11Anniversary! It was 2 years ago on May 6th 2009 at 20:30 German time, when the new Star Trek movie was first shown in our movie theaters and everything changed: The old franchise was full of live again. Spock, Kirk, Uhura or McCoy were still the names of the leading characters, but the faces who carries this names were new. At least one of them, Zachary Quinto, is our all favorite. What changed in this 2 years? New fans, some cool, some not so much, but all enthusiastic about their new heroes were „born“. Scifi conventions like the recent Fedcon become crowded places again, and a new world record of costumed trekkies in one place at one time was set. New books were written, some, like „Starfleet Academy“ are actually pretty good. And in 2012 we all will enjoy hopefully another Star Trek movie. So the only thing left for me to say is: Live long and prosper!

@ziggyeor: we had a tribble last year, I didn't saw it this year, but that deosn't mean anything, because I tend to stay in the panels @SantaFeFan: yes, that is one of my costumes :-) And good luck for Vegas! Wouldn't it be great, if our conventions continue to push each other until we cross the 1000 trekkies mark? @Schnippie, @Coco Garcia: thank you both, I like that color very much @SteffiGoosie: Yes, Wil actually said that. His panel was great, he is so smart and everything he says is so full of subtext. I'll check out sunfells profile.

Star Trek Fans: As maybe some of you know, a couple of conventions all over the world try to set a record of costumed trekkies in one place at one time :-) Last saturday we started another attempt at Fedcon since we lost the world record last year to Las Vegas with 543 costumed Star Trek Fans. Now the record is back to Germany with a total of 691 trekkies in Düsseldorf! Here is the official picture from the convention photographer Thomas Brückl, which I only can link, but not include in this post: http://www.brueckl-photos.de/fedcon20/weltrekord_gross.jpg Las Vegas trekkies, now it‘s your turn again!
