Blippy.com is a site that allows consumers to share purchases with friends. Would you? You can share explicit details or just dollar amounts. I am not sure I am ready for my life to look like a stock ticker and I can imagine there will be some funny stories of purchases made at inopportune times and broadcast to all. The other problem with this model is that it is after the fact. I am more interested in what happens before the purchase. Why not build a real time demand engine (RTDE)? My first ever foray into web analytics began in 1997 when hits were cool. Urchin was one of the first web analytics platforms I remember playing with. There was one for a mac but I would have to dig out a resume from 1998 to remember what that platform was called. The goal then was to figure out who was coming to the site, server load, referrer, etc. My second job netted me Webtrends.
