The 2011 regular season concludes for the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks and the Ohio Bobcats. For the Bobcats, there is still football to be played after tonight. They have the MAC conference championship and then a bowl game. As for the Redhawks, a disappointing season comes to an end, as the... Continue reading

It's not often that the bookmakers are wrong when they come out with their lines. Especially not this late in the season and not in a game between two teams that are ranked in the top 25. But the bookies had it wrong when they released the numbers for this... Continue reading

Wednesday night brings a MAC conference battle between the Western Michigan Broncos and the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks. The 'Hawks opened as a 2.5 point favorite at home, but that has been bet down and they currently sit at -1. Western Michigan comes in off a crushing 63-60 defeat against Toledo.... Continue reading

The Philadelphia Eagles were still relevant in this 2011 season going into Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles were just 3-5 going into the game, but they were a 2 touchdown favorite to take care of Arizona. And then, if they got hot and strung together some wins,... Continue reading

The Northern Illinois Huskies are looking for their 5th consecutive win Tuesday night as they travel to take on the Bowling Green Falcons. NIU played last Tuesday night against Toledo, a game in which neither team could stop the other. The Huskies were a 9.5 point underdog, but won the... Continue reading

The MAC West title is on the line, as the conference's two best teams square off Tuesday night. The Northern Illinois Huskies travel to Ohio to take on the Toledo Rockets. Both teams come in playing well. NIU has won their last 3 games, while Toledo has reeled off 4... Continue reading

I would like to see andy reid gone. He hasnt lost his players, it seems, but he has lost the fans. As good as the eagles looked last night, does anyone really think they are a super bowl team? His "time is yours" routine at the after-game press conferences has grown incredibly old. It is time for a change.
San Diego. I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore... Thus spoke Ron Burgandy, in the movie 'Anchorman. ' And they are fitting words for the NFL team, the Chargers. They are always considered to be one of the top teams in the AFC before the season starts. They... Continue reading

I am still in a mild state of shock about the way the Stanford-USC game ended. The Trojans deserved better, and the people who bet on the Trojans certainly deserved better! After a well-played game ended regulation tied, the game went to OT and the ridiculous rules the NCAA employs.... Continue reading

Saturday night's primetime game between the Stanford Cardinal and the USC Trojans features a matchup of two quarterbacks on their way to being first round NFL picks. USC's signal caller Matt Barkley is right now rated as the third best college QB in the country, while Stanford's Andrew Luck is... Continue reading

Thanks Wayne. I posted before the series started that I liked the Cardinals in 6 or 7. I had no specific play on Game 7. I will continue to post plays on MTR Media, whether its football, basketball, horse racing, or anything that comes up when I feel like I have an edge ...

Wednesday night's game was a rain out. So tonight, the teams meet up for game 6. The pitching matchups and scenario are exactly the same ... Through five games, it's been an evenly matched, entertaining World Series. Texas heads to St Louis, ahead 3-2, and needing just one win to... Continue reading

Through five games, it's been an evenly matched, entertaining World Series. Texas now heads to St Louis, ahead 3-2, and needing just one win to capture their first World Series in the franchise's 50 year history. Game 6 features a rematch of the starters from game 2, Jaime Garcia for... Continue reading

As I wrote in my World Series Selection article, I think the St Louis Cardinals will win it all. They now have a 2-1 lead, which would have been 3-0 had they not blown a 9th inning lead in game 2. Sunday night is game 4, and Texas's back is... Continue reading

For this entire baseball season, I fully expected to be writing about the Philadelphia Phillies in the column called "2011 World Series -- the Selection." It's still hard to believe that the Phillies are not representing the National League in the Fall Classic. The Phils ran into a red hot... Continue reading

We have Tuesday night football this week. And though it's not exactly a clash of the titans when Florida International takes on Arkansas St, it's still great to have some action on this usually football-less night of the week. And it is a game between two of the best teams... Continue reading

Thursday is a great day for sports. We have an MLB Playoff doubleheader and a strong college football game. Only one of the games do I have a strong enough feel to put my money on it. And that is Game 5 of the ALCS between the Texas Rangers and... Continue reading

Castillo is being exposed as one of the shakiest (worst) coaching hirings in recent NFL history...the Eagles play stupid football--they don't manage the clock well, they commit atrocious penalties, they often appear clueless on the field ... their offense appears to be: let vick try to make a play. Vick's chances of not getting seriously hurt the rest of the season are 0 ... so --> HOW ARE THEY FAVORED? .... b/c they absolutely, positively, NEED to win. Another loss pretty much takes them out of the playoffs. A team with this much talent not making the playoffs would be unthinkable. so they HAVE TO, HAVE TO win.... does that mean they will? i'll say 2 things: they most certainly could lose to washington, who right now is the better team. (though, realistically with less to play for..) and, in a way, I kinda hope the eagles DO lose; I think Andy Reid's "Time's yours" act has worn thin & I am ready to see him gone. Michael DelGozzo
There are limited options for sports fans this Tuesday night - a couple NHL games, which I just can't get into this time of year, and one huge baseball game. It's Game 3 in the American League Championship Series between the Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers. Texas heads to... Continue reading

I agree w/ you that Indy HAS to win this game. The D has been good enough, they will get one here ....
The Phillies entered this years playoffs as the strong favorite to represent the National League in the World Series. But as good as the Phillies are, most everyone acknowledged their opening round opponent, the red-hot St Louis Cardinals, would be a very tough out. The Cardinals played incredible baseball down... Sunday night's game between the Jets and the Ravens shapes up to be a beauty. Both teams come in at 2-1, and both have Super Bowl aspirations. Although they have both been involved in some high-scoring affairs so far this year, (the Jets games have gone Over in 2 of... Continue reading

The undefeated South Florida Bulls (4-0) travel to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers (2-2) this Thursday night. It's a battle between Big East schools and should be an entertaining matchup. South Florida opened up the season as a 10.5 underdog at Notre Dame, when they sprung the upset, 23-20. They... Continue reading
