How about we just eliminate the immersion program and quit promoting a boutique educational experience for a sliver of kids in the district. I'm pretty tired of parents using the public school system to generate disparities in educational offerings. You want your kid to learn Mandarin, pay for Mandarin lessons. Stop expecting my kids to get shuffled around to support other kid's special language development. Maybe when this district has decent test scores and graduation rates, we can talk about adding specialty offerings for parents who just can't handle the horrors of "regular" school. We're not there yet. Woodstock sits in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood. How about we send the immersion kids to the old Marshall building. That work for you? Didn't think so.
