It's gotta be in a far-off future, to let you know they're immortal. I was thinking staring at a far off spaceship, but that's just cheesy. I'm not sure how the others die yet; but more importantly—how will Jacob pass from Sayid to Jack?

Well, when *I* think tablet I think CrunchPad; which makes me want to immediately ping ALL my friends.
what was missing from the sports illustrated tablet concept
So on a second watch of the Sports Illustrated tablet concept reel, I was struck by something fundamental: while the content looked great and a magazine interlaced with full-motion content is definitely fun to look at and page through, they completely missed on what could make a device like a tab...
I can't remember the last time I watched a game without either my laptop open with Twitter and a few chat windows open. Sporting events are inherently social, even when you're sitting at home by yourself.

McCarthy is 20 times the writer that whassisname, Infinite Jest dude, is. How can I trust Kottke's links now?
we shouldn't blame jason. we should blame ourselves.
Jason Kottke, on his weblog. Before reading this interview, I didn't know much about [Cormac] McCarthy -- he's a fellow at the Santa Fe Institute? -- but now I think I need to read The Road. If this truly is the first time that Jason mothereffin Kottke has been interested in Cormac McCarthy tha...

I'm gonna go ahead and handle your question seriously, Michael.
I would NOT buy my mother a Monteiro for Mother's Day. For one she alreay has four, which on a good day, she'll tell you is four too many. (Remember, I'm the GOOD one.) Secondly, she prefers flowers and I enjoy giving her what she wants one day a year. Also, she just plain hates art.
However, for mothers who do enjoy art, Ms. Bekman has hand selected many fine pieces at www.20x200.com that I feel are much more appropriate for Mother's Day. There are paintings of unicorns and photos of cupcakes and drawings of unicorns looking at photos of cupcakes. Once I even bought a print of a sunset. Imagine that.
Moms are pretty awesome. And they deserve nice things that will make them happy. My drawings are probably not one of those things. But please; get some for yourselves.
would you buy your mom a monteiro for mother's day?
Sarah Shetter: Ten Great Mother's Day Gift Ideas for $50 or Less. Collecting art is a wonderful pastime but can often be cost prohibitive. With the help of Jen Bekman and her website, www.20x200.com, it is easy to find interesting art pieces for reasonable prices. The site introduces two new piec...

Star Trek, by far. It needed new blood. Something about Wolverine doesn't feel right.
