Letting the days go by, data flowing through the cloud

What is Autodesk Forge?
If what archers do is called archery, why isn't what Forge developers do called Forgery? So what is Forge and what do Forge developers do? Jim Quanci is a Senior Director for the Autodesk Developer Network. Stephen Preston is a Senior Manager of Business Development for Autodesk Forge. Chuck Mies...
I think Pierre is absolutely correct. If you use ADSK depth of talent in UX to create guidelines and tools for the rest of us to build on top of the user community will get a more seamless transition into using the cloud. There are so many things that can go wrong when you try to apply traditional on-premise UX paradigms to cloud base applications that need to be rationalized. Smaller companies are unlikely to do this well and even if they do it would be better to promote consistency.
Some of this is being done on non-CAD, non-3D parts of UX by vendors of general cloud platforms and the tooling that support them but Autodesk really should stake out a leadership role in the parts of cloud UX that are CAD and Design centric. Given the company’s birthright as the highest volume provider of engineering and design appllcations no one is in a better position to do this.
