I finally managed to get a photo of my latest handspun in the daylight today. I had finished it on Thursday but didn't have much time for photos until today. It's the Falkland fibre I showed in my previous post from FeltStudios which I purchased on Etsy a few wees... Continue reading

A few weekends ago, 5 of us took a road trip up to Milton Keynes to visit P&M Woolcraft so I could buy a spinning wheel. Or should I say, so Kirk could buy me a wheel :) I came home with what I knew I wanted, the Majacraft Rose.... Continue reading

I swore I would never ever get into spinning. Afterall, there's so much great ready made yarn out there and I don't have a ton of free time so why "waste" it spinning when I could just spend my time knitting? Well, of course I had to give it a... Continue reading

Finally another finished item. I started these socks back in December last year and the first one went fast and I got as far as the heel flap on the second and then I stalled. These were knit for my MIL and as she's visiting at the moment I wanted... Continue reading

I finished a quick project of a poncho as a baby gift for a friend who had a little girl at the end of last year. I met up with her today and she seemed to really like it. I had N model it for me and of course it... Continue reading

Finished these mittens for myself this afternoon. Only took 5 days of knitting but actual knitting time was probably 5 hours. They were a free pattern on Ravelry called "Lofty Wool Cable Mittens" and were a pleasure to knit. I used Misty Alpaca chunky yarn in a pale pink. Gorgeous... Continue reading

I figure I did well last year when I challenged myself to finish at least one project a month. I managed something like 25 finished items last year. So far this year i have made a cowl using Skein Queen Desire and the Noble Cowl pattern on Ravelry. It was... Continue reading

I've been quiet on here I know but I have been super busy working on loads of things. Some I can't share photos of yet as I need to send them off to their rightful owners and others as there just isn't enough done to share. I was in the... Continue reading

I'm being optimistic by saying it's my first October finish. Afterall it's about time I started on my Christmas knits so I don't drive myself nuts closer to Christmas with all the other fun stuff I have planned with the kids! This is the "Kina" cardigan pattern from Kids Tricot.... Continue reading

So I haven't posted in a long time but I have been busy knitting lots of little things. Several friends are having/have had babies hence the baby themed knit fest. I have the usual multiple projects on the go but at least I'm managing to finish a bunch as well.... Continue reading

I was thinking back to earlier this year when Alice and I decided to try and have at least one "finish" per month. I think I've so far managed to keep up with this as I've gotten a lot done. I suppose it's also faster and easier to do kids'... Continue reading

Had my first weigh in today and yay I lost 2lbs! Also did my measurements and my spare tire is gone from my waist with a 3cm loss. Few more centimeters overall so it's all going in the right direction! Knitting up a storm so hope to be back with... Continue reading

Well, I finally did it. I went back to Weight Watchers meetings as I'm just not disciplined to go it by myself at home. I can do the points counting no problem. I know the routine. But it's easier to cheat and convince myself it's not a big deal if... Continue reading

I started these back in January as soon as I had the yarn and pattern in hand. The first sock went pretty fast, the second one went quickly to the heel turn and then I put it aside. Big mistake to do that as I didn't note down where I... Continue reading

I finished knitting the Flower Basket Shawl this afternoon and it's down in the kitchen blocking. The first photo was how small and shrivelled up it starts out when it's unblocked. The shawl has more than doubled in width at the widest part and is about 4x longer as well.... Continue reading

I figured I'd try keeping up with this blog a bit more often as I do quite a lot of knitting but I don't stop to document it very often! The little owl was part of my KnitLoveClub Summer club swap for my partner Tricia. I had her for the... Continue reading

I managed to buy yet another load of yarn today despite my best intentions not to. I blame it all on Alice Socktopus though. I ran into her at the Wollmeise booth and she was picking out some wild colors for doing colorwork though not with all the colors together... Continue reading

Today was day 1 of Knit Nation. Bright early start at 5:45am when I got up and showered, ready to head out to Imperial College to help out on registration and such. Two classes (Cast on Cornucopia and 3-2-1 Roundabout) followed by the market place preview. And preview I did!... Continue reading

At least this new hobby doesn't require any additional stash, at least nothing other than a few books and a few crochet hooks in different sizes. Luckily I've got the yarn side of things covered already. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of crochet in terms of... Continue reading

I am on a roll! I finished this Forest Canopy Shawl by Susan Lawrence in just 3 days. I used Skein Queen Exquisite yarn in a colorway called "Pageant" which was from the March 2010 Film Club. The yarn was a dream to knit with and I adored the color.... Continue reading
