Lately I've become enamored with anything related to makeup. I guess I'm what you call a late bloomer. Sure I dabbled with some eyeliner and lip gloss, but I never experienced the obsession and creative experimenting that a lot of... Continue reading

I'm sitting here waiting for some salmon and potatoes to cool (salmon cakes for dinner? yes please!) and rather than looking for yet another variant of Bejeweled Blitztastic or whatever I decided to check up on the internet. So I... Continue reading

Am I allowed to talk about football even though I'm not a boy? Too bad, you are going to have to suffer through this. I have really enjoyed getting to know football. I really think the organization of the league... Continue reading

In case it wasn't obvious, work has been cray-cray. Exciting crazy, and I'm loving my job, but still, crazy. It's not even like I don't have time at home to blog. Trust me, there is a lot of watching Friends... Continue reading

I present to you: Flashdance! Or maybe Fame: It has that 80's carefree, bright, fun feel to it. And I love that I found nail polish that matches perfectly! (Barry M Nail Paint in Bright Purple) The pattern is sensibly... Continue reading

There seems to be an inverse relationship between how much I blog vs. how much I'm enjoying my work. Needless to say I think y'all have noticed I love my job lately. About a month ago Craig and I went... Continue reading

One year from today! One year from today! OMG, ONE YEAR FROM TODAY! I'm so not freaking out by the way. I haven't bought The Dress. (Saturday!) We haven't picked colors. We haven't found a florist. We haven't picked a photographer. I haven't selected bridesmaid dresses. We haven't selected a tartan pattern. We haven't found/made invitations. This is me, totally not freaking out. Totally. OMG, ONE YEAR FROM TODAY! Continue reading

I just finished watching My Best Friend's Wedding on TV. When it first came out I loved that movie so much I saw it on the theater twice. I still love that movie but is it just me or does it not make sense? Michael, the best friend, let me repeat that, her BEST friend hasn't been in touch with Jules for months and then invites her to his wedding with a day's notice? Ok so she falls off the bed when she hears the news to show us that yes, this is shocking, but it's more unbelievable than shocking... Continue reading

Fellow WC Bride Adrianne has pulled together a great tutorial on how to make these really cute table numbers: Craig and I are still debating between numbers or names for our tables but if I were to go with numbers this would be a perfect look. Continue reading

Loooove this alternative to chair covers: From Swank Productions (NYC event planner). It looks so casually elegant and perfect with the marakesh theme going on here. You can pick up like 5 pashminas for £10 from a street vendor to recreate this look. Continue reading

There's no getting around it: My powerbook is dying. It starts to wheeze after about an hour of use and then it starts freezing up and I have to tilt it to make it keep going. Yes, that's right. There's... Continue reading

Last week Craig and I met up with a friend who happens to be trying to start up her own florist business to get some general guidance about the wedding. She generously lent me a stack of magazines and advised, "Just mark up the ones you like" focusing on: Textures Shapes Colours Styles and least of all, specific flowers (unless I had a specific one in mind, which I don't) So over the next few days I selected my favorites, without thinking too much, and these are what I chose: What I love about it: I love there's so much... As I sit and contemplate the "British summer" (seriously, what happened to it??) I can't help but think that a sunny day, comfy chairs and good food are all you really need to cater to the wedding day, or rehearsal dinner or even the bridal shower... if we could just count on a sunny day! You could greet guests with a refreshing glass of fruit and herb infused water: From the fabulous Sunday Suppers blog. If you're a bit spooked by putting thyme in water, you could play it a bit safer with mint and rasberries, yum! I personally want... Continue reading

You know what I hate? When you go to buy a card and they don't even try. I mean sometimes you could shell out over $5 and it's just insulting that they don't even make an effort. Like birthday cards.... Continue reading
