The quid pro quo argument has changed ..." I have not seen a transcript of the discussion but one take might be ... "agree to make a public announcement to investigate Ukraine interference in 2016 and Burisma so we can move forward with arrangements to visit the White House."

"whether someone would be excluded from a patient room" If there is a hospital situation where only family is allowed then absent an equivalent to marriage roommates, boyfriends, girlfriends and/or lovers would be excluded. Some who say same sex couples belong in that category are now subject to banning. Did it really have to be this way?

I don't know for sure but would bet that California's Domestic Partnership required the same hospital access as marriage and still wasn't good enough. Even now they still have to go after normies over cakes and whatnot ... so accesses, privileges, and rights clearly are not the whole story, ... just the best talking points to use against traditional normies. Been there.

"If [Chick Fil A is] caving to leftist whining, they’re absolute idiots, because it will buy them not one ounce of peace or goodwill from them, but it will cost them support from folks like us" Sounds like CFA has been "banned" from markets for donating millions to Salvation Army. Now they will cease donating ... Maybe it is a cave, or maybe it's a test. "How Do You Like Me Now LBGTQWERTY?" Doesn't change the fact that they have donated millions and can go back to donating millions when LBGTQWERTY refuses to unban them.

"RELEASE THE TRANSCRIPT OF THE FIRST CALL TO ZELENSKY" Could be that's why he was seen talking to Barr.

"you've certainly been known to sneer" On this subject it's mainly history vs sneer. So other subjects aren't necessarily relevant.

I think the logic might go something like this ...Those who warn about armed insurrection if the government tries to confiscate guns are wrong because confiscation of guns is just not feasible. Therefore there will never be an armed insurrection for that reason. That is a non sequitur because feasibility is not a concern for those willing to make the attempt.

RE: It can't happen here ... How many instances of violence have you seen against Trump supporters? Quite a few in my opinion, with no counter-violence to speak of. Is that because Trump supporters are wimpy little babies? No, I don't think so. And that's why I think you are wrong.

Sandy, I had heard about fenbendazole from a friend who also has taken one treatment as preventative. She is totally convinced it's a big deal, I remain skeptical. But I have made inquiries.

NYT has a problem with Sean Spicer dancing with the stars:Watching Mr. Spicer try to wipe away some of his disgrace through dancing hurts. Yet here he is, week after week, using dance as a way to redeem his character. Giving the public the chance to laugh with him — dressed as a buffoon in that scary green ruffled shirt, dancing to “Spice Up Your Life” — and not at him comes off as a calculation, on his (and probably the show’s) part. And Mr. Spicer’s later performances have been scary in a different way, like his militaristic Paso Doble, which had a cold brutality to it.Antonio Martinez replied to Ben Shapiro's mocking of NYT:@djtechchicago Replying to @benshapiro All these years you've been making fun of people with degrees in lesbian dance theory. Then one writes this epic masterpiece. Well, who's laughing now?LOL

TR, maybe you should have considered the possibility of ambiguity before launching a counterattack.
Toggle Commented Nov 6, 2019 on South of the Border at JustOneMinute
If the story was perfectly ambiguous your comeback still was way over the top. I do not read the story as perfectly ambiguous. Appears to me there is a conventional interpretation and an unconventional interpretation. If the unconventional interpretation did not occur to Clarice then her initial comment makes sense. And if your unconventional interpretation is actually mistaken then it's all on you TR.

TR addressing Clarise:"I suggest you take your own advice and read the story as well. Once you do you will see that my comment was correct"That seems like a good example of how discourse goes sideways. The example quote from the article (in part):underlings of Nxivm leader Keith Raniere recruited young women to work as nannies in an upstate New York compound run by [Nxivm]Which in order for TR to be correct and Clarice to be wrong requires an inference which apparently TR believes to be just as good as proof. And it is not IMO just as good as proof. So the last line ... "Do you really think the recruited young women actually ended up working as nannies?" ... looks gratuitous to me.

"Trump should have ... stated from the outset quid pro quo is simply another name for foreign policy" It's the old "corrupt intent" argument that doing something perfectly ordinary, with multiple ordinary motives, is impeachable if a prog flunky thinks it was a political impulse.

"There would be a lot of value in [process punishment against progs] ... It'd be heartening for our side to see those tactics applied to some of the most awful progs." If our side can make those tactics impossible to use against our side going forward, that would be an acceptable substitute IMO. It was necessary to win WWII even if there would be no Nuremberg trials. We have to win this war. What happens after ... Que Sera Sera When [if] we win my suggested substitute would be good enough for me.

RE: Lock and Load Skipping ahead ... The problem with "I just don’t see it" is the following: If you want peace ... prepare for war. If you just don’t see it and they just don’t see it then there is no deterrence.

Surber makes a point I agree with:The Washington Post today alleged, "Trump without the Trumpiness would win reelection in a landslide." By Trumpiness, the Post means three years of lies, slander and libel against Donald Trump.Yup
In theory those are non-violent, non-impeach preferences. However IMO both result in a Dem lock on POTUS for a long long time. Or CW II.
