It's a crazy time to visit Thailand...politics, weather, and a wild holiday all in one week. I just hope my car is done at the end of the month, as planned. I want to spend a few weekends tooling around the track.

I always include $9.50/turn in my totals as well. Infinity has always had worse slippage than Global Futures. I'm not sure who he's using as a broker for the 'free' subscription deal.

Yeah, well...I'm prepaid for the year. I'm breakeven over the two years that I've been trading MiniAnalyst so I'm not exactly a fanboy at this point.

Ultimately it's always the trader's problem. The liability waivers that you sign when you open an account are solid. This is one of the reasons that it is nearly impossible to make money trading--even if the model works you could get wiped out by a single technical glitch at your broker. I had a similar thing happen in my first month of trading at Tradestation. They had a glitch and I lost 1/3rd of my account in one day when stops went awry and the platform hung with 4 contracts on. You call your broker and they put you on hold for 5-10 minutes...the market can move a long way in that length of time. In this particular case it was actually a hiccup at MA and he decided to give me a credit toward next year's subscription. If it had been a lot of money then I doubt that anyone would have admitted anything or offered anything...

Yeah, this is the only bit of trading that I do anymore. I have around $7k in the account and I'm just going to let it ride. Whatever it does is what it does this year...it's on its own.

I'm being charged $9.50/turn on ES so I do subtract that from what I post.

No long. Both systems went short and ESDT got out at the start of the rise and Grind gave back most of its gains to exit with 6 ticks.

So far this year MiniAnalyst has been reminding me of the good days in 2008. Breakeven most of the time and some nice wins now and then that make up the profits. I sure wouldn't mind a year of this. lol.

I think the word of the day is 'opportunity cost'. I haven't really lost all that much money trading but a loss is a loss. In the meantime I have all of my money tied up when I could be buying drive train upgrades for the car or something. ;)

I'm not sure about the other systems but the two in DDT_ES are greatly improved with the tweaks he made.

MA doesn't subtract commissions in its daily report, whereas I take off $9.70/turn and then round. Supposedly my commish is lower this year but I won't know if that actually happened until a month has passed and I see a statement.

It definitely trades a lot less often. It'll take a while to see if that equates to profits. The brokerage fees use to be killer so it could make a difference.

My subscription is up any day now and with my account balance where it is, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. MA will run their annual sale one week from now, I'd imagine. I'll have to decide soon.

The ES position had stopped out shortly after the close on Wednesday. Neely was looking at the MAR contract prices when he sent out his email...I confirmed that by emailing him. That's something else I'll say about Neely--he answers email personally. Not what one would expect from an accomplished trader running a low-cost service.
I have a copy of Neely's book but to call it complex would be a severe understatement. I think it's safe to say that few people can get through the book. There's a private blog (have to be a Neely subscriber to sign on) where a couple guys that have learned it debate market position and ruminate on what Neely is seeing. I could put you in touch if you get far enough to want to talk with one of them. Prechter's book is an easy read but it's just the basics. Hands-down the best blog is Daneric. Even if you think EW is bunk, it is an interesting read every night...

Tamer got me in some trouble with MiniAnalyst by sending an email and linking to my site. I didn't appreciate that in the least. It's nothing personal but this isn't Elite Trader and I'm not making money on this site. It's a personal space and I insist on keeping my Zen. ;)

Does it work every day? I've looked at a lot of things and anything can have a really good day and then proceed to give it all back on the bad days.

Since all I do at the moment is Elliot wave and MiniAnalyst, perhaps you should find another blog to hang out on.

I've never seen them lie. They are, however, very good marketers and have a knack for presenting information in a favorable way. We did do a 300%+ return in 2008. Unfortunately for me I was trading a much smaller account in that year, since I was testing the waters. MA definitely isn't for someone that wants smooth equity curves.

It's basically a computer program that buys/sells contracts in your account for you...you don't have to do anything other than pay for the subscription and put money in the account. The advantage is that you never miss a trade...the disadvantage is that computers have no discretion. If you are a believer in non-discretionary system trading then platforms like StrategyRunner and system vendors like MiniAnalyst are the ultimate expression of that.
