North Pole Breakfast...
Typically on the 1st of December the girls get to open gifts; they get new Christmas jammies (from Grammie) and a Christmas book from us. This year, I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit. I saw a really cute idea for a 'North Pole Breakfast' (on pinterest, of course) and figured it l...
Oh Joanna! You are too funny! We took your tips...headed out to the same spot that you recommended. In fact I recognized the same log from YOUR BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS CARDS!!! Mark and I headed out with our tripod and tried just about every pose we could think of. Also, I must say that I have some PS Actions that I bought and they really enhance the photos!!!
It's that time of year...
So last weekend our family ventured out for our Christmas card photo shoot. My goal was to get pictures taken before the Thanksgiving weekend was over. It took until Saturday evening, but we did it! With a four year old, there was still plenty of bickering, whining and general "unrest", but w...
Tiana....your Hailey is absolutely adorable!!! Her costume and matching bag just rock! I love the idea of using the premade bag from the craft store!
Joanna- you must bring out the creativity in people! It is simply amazing! I have enjoyed this Halloween season so much more than in the years past, that I don't know why I didn't get into more before. (OK, maybe working full time, but...) Anyway, I love your spirit and enthusiam...it truly is infectious!!! As you can see....
Treat bag throwdown #2, 2011...
Are you ready for this?????????? Honestly, you should be sitting down for this. No kidding. Really.... go ahead and be seated. Be prepared to drop some jaws. I swear, *YOU* all are SO creative. You'd think that by now, we'd seen about as many cool felt treat bag concoctions as possible, right? B...
Joanna,
Of course you can link/post!
I must say that we have had a ball this season preparing for Halloween...from decorating the house, hosting our Scrapbook group and then of cours, the planning, preparing for and the making of costumes! Working this weekend with my parents was just icing on the cake, as they say!
The kids are absolutely crazy excited with their costumes! I think Mia would wear it everyday until Halloween, if I let her! She just loves the hair! That was "Mimi Magic"!
Max was just a stroke of genius on my mom and Mark's parts. Mark came up with the old rotting butterfly house in the backyard, as the basic structure. My mom made it smaller and we even cut off the existing door for the eye hole! The hair just makes it, if you ask me! That was a bit of my mom's magic....1 inch foam cut into strips, spray painted and hot glue gunned into place!
As for Miles, he just loves it. Total team effort...I did the shoes and mom did the hat. She amazes me...never a patter!
I am so excited and Joanna, I think you are right. After this year, I think they will be the ones demanding "homemade" and throwing out the magazines! Thanks for sending my the Halloween bug!!!!
Almost Ready for Halloween
We have been busy working on Halloween costumes around here! This year, the kids were quite creative when it came to deciding on their Halloween costumes. They were so creative that we had to call in reinforcements to help with the making of the costumes. I grew up with two of the most incr...
So sad that we missed the Waterslides! Looks like you all had a blast...love the pictures!!!
waterslides....
Yesterday we headed to the water slides in Paso for our annual summer visit. For the past 3 years we've gone with the 'scrap girls'; this year we were missing a few people but we still had a fantastic day. It's so fun to see the youngest to the oldest kids enjoy the park. There really is s...
Looks like you had a wonderful trip! So happy for you! PS- the pictures are beautiful!!
Maui top 10.... part 1
Jason and I had the best time in Maui!!!! We stayed on the west-side of the island in Kaanapali. Our hotel, The Sheraton Resort and Spa, was right at Black Rock. We stayed for 8 nights/9 days and really had the most incredible time. We've been looking forward to this trip for months. We got GREA...
Joanna,
Thanks for the comment! It was hard getting "back in the saddle" of blogging again after such a long hiatus. And as for Mia's shoes, I have just one work of advice if they are in Ally's future....SOCKS!! Mia has taken to no sock and man do her feet/shoes STINK!!!
A Little Late, But.....
POTD First day of school this year.....Just for you mom!
Aby, I am so on the same page as you! For Mother's day I told my husband that I wanted a garden in the backyard because I wanted to eat healthier and I wanted the kids to eat more veggies. Two months later, our garden is in full bloom. I recently read an article in the BH&G magazine about canning. My mother in law will be here in 2 weeks to help teach me and the kids how to actually do it. In the meantime, I am sneaking veggies into our meals (Jessica Seinfeld's Deceptively Delicious inspred me). You truly inspire me and I imagine that your life is much like I aspire mine to be.....an organized house that runs relatively smoothly, eating cleanly and time for you. Keep the insprations coming! Thanks, Michele
summer goal: eat more natural foods
One of my goals this summer is to eat more natural foods, such as fresh foods from the Farmer’s Market and store bought foods made with natural ingredients. Lucky for me, Jay is excited about this goal, too, and the kids are even willingly going along for the ride. This built in support makes it...

Okay..the prizes are amazing, but this sharing of "likes" is kind of fun, too. As a teacher and mother of 3, I don't have much time to read for ME. It Is Finally Done!!!
One of the things that I am most excited about these days is having the ability to scrapbook once again! The past year and a half has been extremely frustrating because I was able to look at all of my scrapbooking tools, but not able to use any of them. In fact, t...
