"Well, d'uh. Hey, I think Australia should challenge the *spit* fwench *spit* too...." Now, now, R'Cat. That would NOT be a "challenge" for the Aussies! It'd be like taking whines from babies.

Thank you. Once again. "I needed that." Just got off the phone with the White House contact line. Moderating my tone was difficult. As I reviewed my concerns about the President's "Vicente Fox's lapdog" proposals with the operator, I managed to convey my deep, deep disapointment, almost grief, that I can no longer extend respect to George W. Bush, the man, because of his bald-faced lying Monday night along with his plea for respectful discourse (wile showing profound disrespect for legions of Americans). *sigh* And then... and then you come along and lend some much-needed perspective. Thanks you. Thank you very much.

All I need to get is some chicken. Have the rest of the ingredients on hand. Don't have a "non-stock" frying pan, unless I coult my very well-seasoned cast iron skillet, but I think that'll do. Stir fry, though... peanut oil? (I have some, reserved almost exclusively for stir frying). Sounds like a winner. May I add diced onions and garlic? ;-)

Oh, YUM! I've gotten lazy in the last few years and only make bread in my bread machine any more, but there is nothing like a fresh-baked loaf of bread. From freshly-ground flour? Haven't done that yet. Looks/sounds delish, though.

And thank YOU for pointing to this! You're right: it is both educational and entertaining. In a word: fun.

Thanks. Maybe it was just coffee deprivation (when is four cups EVER enough?), but today's been a major curmudgeonly day... I needed this post.

That is STRONG! Thanks, R'Cat! BTW, check out Blue Star Chronicles' "Sammenhold" post, would you? I posted about it today (one down from the "sticky post" at top). So many folks had good stuff up today that I may need to do a short roundup post tonight or tomorrow a.m. This post of yours would have to lead the pack. Thanks again!

And thank you, R'Cat for voicing what I would have, had my throat not been choked with bile after the vile outpourings by DEMONcrappic nekulturny (the gentlest disapprobation I can level) and the rest of the rabid moonbattery there. *sigh* Remind me again why we ought to turn the other cheek? And just what does that mean in a situation like this? (Doesn't "other" imply two strikes and you're out? *heh*)

Forgot: I usually test my beans doneness by removing one bean and blowing on it. If the skin juuuust curls away, the bean's tender, perfectly done. BTW, the Anazasi beans I mentioned are supposed to have much less of the particular carbs that cause gas for some folks. Another plus. Of course, they're still considered a "boutique" bean, so availability and pricing are sometimes an issue for folks.

Yeh, I sometimes pick 'em over dry, sometimes while rinsing... I think I'll try this with some Anasazi beans some friends gave me. Made a coupla batches of ham n beans (w.cornbread, of course) outa them already and liked the flavor so much I saved some to plant. here's hoping for a crop this summer.

The really sad thing? This is so very much the norm for a certain segment of our population that I am not even shocked. Revolted, yes, but surprised? Shocked? *sigh* O woe to him who calls evil good and good evil! There is no word in my vocabulary to describe how despicable these folks (the "cartoonist" and those who published his filth instead of firing his ass... with a big boot where it might do him some good.

Play cuddleup with Munchkin and y'all BOTH feel better (cos when our children feels bad, so do we, eh?). As for the SOTUA, well, I have grown to prefer reading speeches to listening to them. It's all about the content to me.

Well, what you said and a public spanking. Since he wants to act like a brat, regardless his age he ought to be spanked like one. Physically. (And he should be glad, given past silly pronouncements, that the OT injunction to kill false prophets is no longer in effect.) Then again, as my Baptist preacher grandfather once said, "If God could speak to His prophet through the mouth of an ass, it just doesn't take much to be a preacher." (Meaning, as he later explained, all it really takes is obedience and humility--which comments like Robertson's about Sharon illustrate he's not all that long on... )

For Biden, I prefer "plagiarist" since it's his single most enduring trait. With Kennedy? Souse. Or perhaps perpetually drunken boor. Liar and baboon (not bufoon) also appeal. But then, I amthe charitable sort... ;-)

"...you are SO gonna get it when I get back!" Yeh, well, whatever you do, don't try to slap me silly, cos it'd be soooo redundant. :-) Not that a quick dopeslap might not be deserved. But hey, I wear my caps bill-backwards when I expect a dopeslap, anyway. (I suspect that's how the trend got started among "the silly, baggy-pants generation".)
