Good Bye to Mrs BizWhiz ... For Now
If you find yourself on my blog, you need to know that I've not been active here in over a year. But. I decided to leave Mrs Biz Whiz up because "she" (really me) was my very first blog. Some of what's here may be helpful to you. You can find me over at Healing Rescue Dogs, and I hope you'll stop by to see what I'm doing. Continue reading

OK - I have no idea is this is divine providence or me just picking up the Sept issue of MORE magazine - which you should too. On page 190, there's an ad for a product for thinning hair. The product is called Viviscal - there's an 800 number and a web site (Viviscal.com) and it looks like you can buy this at your nearest RiteAid. I have NO idea if it works and NO idea as to cost - and - this is not a paid endorsement. From my hands to yours....
Hair, or the lack thereof
Not wanting to be seen by anyone I knew, I ducked into a store quite a distance from our house, heading straight for the product I sought. I had been eyeing it for years, but until this moment, couldn't rouse the courage to actually buy it. Tucking the box under my arm so the name wasn't obviou...

I've been out-of-the-blogging loop myself - vacation will do that to you and thought I'd enjoy somebody else's "OMG - too much to do and where does the time go?!" You didn't disappoint me, Barb.
How have I missed news about Max? Is this the second dog - the one you were about to get when I first met you here OR is this a 3rd dog? Yipes! I need to pay more attention to you or the next thing I know, you'll have a kennel filled with 'em!
Detours (and my Friday Favorite Photo)
This has been one crazy, zig-zagging, bouncing, stretching-myself-across-so-many-things-I-think-I'm-going-to-pop kind of week. One of those weeks where everything is high priority and you just can't procrastinate any longer. So you just do it all, period, and try your best to get some sleep. Thi...

I'm still exploring your blog and after reading your lovely tribute to your husband and to "the life," wanted to let you know that up until the time I was 12 years old, I thought that every family lived on a military base and that moving every four years (sometimes less than that) was typical. How my mom did this with 5 kids I'll never know. After all of these years, I miss being that Army brat.
Facing retirement from the military: A Special tribute
The first word to describe the feeling I had when it came time for my husband to retire from the military was ...foreign. Everything about the idea was foreign to me. After all, we'd been moving for years ...exploring new territory ...had a good support system in place, and now we were going t...
Bless you for this gorgeous blog! I want to come and live with you. The pull at my own heart has always been to "live near - No. To live ON the water. Here in the Finger Lakes region of New York, oddly enough, the water I can walk to is the Erie Canal - not the same thing - and I'm about 20 minutes away from Lake Ontario and just under an hour from Canandaigua Lake. But. It's not the same thing as being able to wake up, look out my window and see the early morning mist rising off of the lake. Thank you for this blog. - Kathy
The other side of feeling guilty at BellaCasa
Some evenings I find myself in a daze because of all that has occurred and maybe the first thought that drifts into my brain starts to form in the way of a complaint. But then I have to stop myself and just breathe and think a bit. Because there is so, so very much that I am grateful for on...

Catching Up After a Long Blogger's Absence
It's not a coincidence that as I put the final, finishing touches on a house project, that the shell of a special interest blog is almost done. Somehow, the house project: stripping 40-plus year old wallpaper off of bedroom walls before painting them and the design and initial content for my dog web site, just happened to take place almost simultaneously. Start stripping wall paper. Get free report re-configured into a PDF format and hooked into aweber. Strip some more wall paper. Think about what's going on the sidebar. Strip more wallpaper. Spend some time getting familiar with a different... Continue reading
