Congratulations! May you find lots of happiness in your small, minimal space. I dream of downsizing one day, but not to a small house rather a boat to sail around the world in.

I think it is important to have BHAGs- big hairy audacious goals- with timescales, otherwise what would motivate us to move forward. Without a timescale and drive behind a goal it very easily stays a dream! ...and in that same vein, it is important to review the plans regularly in light of the circumstances, those factors outside of your control to see if your goals are still realistic. There is no point in doggedly going after some old goal when we are just setting ourselves up for failure, or if it is stopping us from picking up on a new opportunity which can propel us forward, but possibly in a different direction. My BHAG- sail around the world with the children in 10 years time- I made this in 2006 before any of the kids were born, before I knew Little Miss has extreme motion sickness. Will we reach the goal? Who knows? We may just adjust it.

Smoke alarms are so annoying when they run out of battery. We had the task of finding a smoke alarm running low on battery in our basement. Was found at the bottom of a box after a week of searching all through the stacks of stuff stored. Can you find the smoke alarm with a metal detector & cut out only that bit? PS Do you give your builders warning about the death curse?... it could be helpful for their family to have additional life insurance when their loved one is working under such hazardous paranormal conditions. ;o)
It's an amazing place, isn't it? Frightening to think that we, as humans, can destroy this wonderful natural resource within the space of a generation! My Israel experience was a love-hate relationship. From the dead sea I got the worst ever rash and uncontrollable itch ever... but still would not have missed out on the floating!
