Krueg, after following your posts all year I would think you would be most likely to understand someones emotions getting the better of them. Since you don't, c'est la vie.
Verlander Voted Most Valuable
Justin Verlander wins the MVP to go with his Cy Young, while Jacoby Ellsbury (gerbil's MFRS) got the runner up. I was on the fence whether it should be Ellsbury or Verlander and can not argue with either choice. Jim Ingraham of The Herald-News in Ohio left Verlander off his MVP ballot entirely (a...
Sorry John YF, I was flip because I was still feeling a little emotional about Elsbury not winning it. It was uncalled for. I believe Elsbury was a no brainer as much as you feel the same about Granderson.
Additionally, I do have a problem w/ pitchers winning that award, as well as the concept that a player has to be on a playoff team to win. Sometimes a player has an exceptional season on a team that just isn't going anywhere, should that cost him the recognition he deserves?
Krueg, I'm hardly a troll.

Devine, F*CK TEXAS! I hope Nolan Ryan has a stroke tonight.
Rangers-Cards Serious Final Game
Hard to live up to game six, but still, tense.
What's all this low expectations talk I am hearing from the Yankees fans? What a lame argument to not be disappointed, I thought there was only one acceptable goal every year as a Yankees fan, to win it all. Everything else is a disappointment. If "The Boss" was still around, heads would roll!
Yankee Bats Located
What an amazing performance by Carpenter, shame on the Philadelphia for letting it get to a game 5. Of the remaining 4 teams the Cardinals have as good a chance as any of them to win it all and would be the first team I will root for, followed by the Brewers then Tigers and finally Rangers. Milwaukee could really use one, it's just hard to root for a team with a player named Prince.

I looked it up and it has some excellent reviews. I will give that try sometime. Right now it's Guinness Draught.

Thankfully, Bard shut me up.
Even gameday is a pitch ahead of Fox.

Congratulations to the Tiggers with their first clinch since Reagan was in office. The Yankees have scored six to take the lead in Toronto, and Boston hosts the Rays this afternoon. Comment away.
Still don't trust Bard. Think he's been over used this year.

Please bring Lester out for 1 more. He seems to have gotten a little grove going and is only at 109.

The fact they delay the broadcast almost makes it seem like they know they suck, because it screws up syncing the radio with the TV. But it got me to thinking about when I was a kid watching the Celtics and listening to Johnny Most on radio. Those were the days.

I can't stand watching the game on Fox. Tried turning the volume down and listening on WEEI but Fox broadcast seems to be delayed and that is almost as annoying as the clowns on Fox. They are so pro Tampa Bay I keep waiting for one of them to go down on Joe Maddon.

> ...'cause Price v. Wakefield...hoo boy.
I think we'll see a different Wakefield now that he has the 200 win monkey off his back.
Nearing the Light at the End of the Tunnel
The Yankees are in the midst of a brutal 33-games-in-32-days stretch including their just-completed final West-coast-swing of 2011. They've lost 5 of their last 8 games, including three one-run losses in extra innings (one of them at 2:00 am) and a fourth one-run loss on a bottom of the 9th sac...

Maybe we can bring Marvin in to finish it out.
Dear Tim
Retire already. That is all.

Wow, after that huge pitch count advantage Burnett only winds up pitching 1/3 of an inning more than Lester. Weird.

Nine hits, one run. That's twice the bases have been juiced with no joy.
Sounds like the Sox in game 1.

Well Ironhorse if that is the case and I have no reason to doubt it, it has certainly had more of a negative effect on Lesters' performance. In general, it has seemed to me the umpires have been really squeezing pitchers more this year. Just a qualitative observation.
