Last night I was wrangled into visiting the Daily Grill restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Because the people who'd invited me to join them at this locality usually select great restaurants, I was optimistic and looking forward to trying something new. Prior to my dining experience, I Googled the Daily Grill and found it listed as a national chain, with the Portland location situated in the Westin hotel on SW Alder. I looked at the menu and at first glance, felt a little apprehensive because there was so much variety. My reasoning for this is because I believe that a restaurant... Continue reading

I love coffee and I quit drinking it about 75 days ago. Why, you might ask? Because I had begun to feel increasingly sluggish and so tired in the afternoon that I could barely function. I read somewhere that drinking coffee everyday can tax your adrenal system, so I decided to see what happened when I quit drinking it for a while. The first 30 days were awful. Even after the headaches and fogginess subsided, which for me, lasted for a little more than two weeks, I was left with a blah sort of melancholy that lasted for another two... Continue reading

There are products on the market that truly deliver on their advertised promises and then there are products on the market that deliver far beyond our expectations and become a surprising discovery. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is one of those amazing products that truly exceeded my expectations while remaining quite humble. I am something of a product junkie, and I've tried many if not most of the very expensive, high-end facial moisturizers on the market. This winter, my skin become much more sensitive than usual with a ruddy, red, splotchy tone, and has been dry as a bone. Every moisturizer, expensive... Continue reading

Because I've heard people say many different things about the BlackBerry Storm; both good and bad, I just have to give my opinion on the matter. I truly love my BlackBerry Storm 9530 Smartphone. And when I say, "love," I mean that I love it as though it were a member of my family. There is just something about the touch screen that is amazingly fulfilling to use. I love how many really great applications are available (sorry, but I refuse to say, "apps"), and I love that most all of them work very well on this Smartphone. There are... Continue reading

If you’ve read the previous post on my disastrous experience with the Sunbeam Warm Mist Humidifier that I purchased from and then promptly returned to Target, you will know that I’ve been desperately searching for a descent humidifier to combat this cold, dry winter weather that we’ve been having in Portland. I’m happy to report that my search has ended with the Honeywell Warm Moisture Humidifier that I’ve purchased from Best Buy. After reading several glowing reviews of this product online, I purchased the unit through the Best Buy website, and then picked it up form a retail location on... Continue reading

Recently I visited a Starbucks location and had a very interesting experience. I am not a big coffee drinker, and when I do drink coffee, I am not the biggest Starbucks fan. However around the holidays, one thing that I adore is a steaming hot mug of hot apple cider, which Starbucks does offer. A few weeks ago I visited a different Starbucks location with a friend an ordered a cup of steamed apple cider, and I remembered enjoying it, so today, as it is 20-some degrees in the Portland metro area, I decided that I needed something warming and... It is very cold and very dry right now in the Pacific Northwest, and I am totally not used to this kind of weather. My skin feels perpetually ready to crack and fall to the floor. I decided that I need a humidifier, so I turned to the wonderful vast world of the World Wide Web. I wanted to pick one up today, so I eventually landed on the Target.com website and scoured the product details and reviews eventually landing on a beautiful, warm-mist humidifier made my a company not Sunbeam. And then I drove to Target and made a... Continue reading
