Tyson Tyson, I thought you could not embarrass yourself any further but I guess I thought wrong. Between you and I, who really misleads the people of Cameroon? You have suceeded as an entrepeneur in Cameroon but you blatantly say that Cameroon will never change. You want to make Cameroonians to give up the fight for a better future while you bloat your belly with all of Cameroon's money. You want to greedily keep all the money to yourself and discourage other people from finding the money. Between you and me, who is really misleading the Cameroonian people? You also talked about us in "diaspora" cleaning plates. Well, i'm apologize for the fact that I wasn't born into rich and spoiled families like yours. You see, unlike you, some of us work extra hard to become something in future. Not all of us were born into families that get rich by licking the asses and wiping the buttocks of biya and his people. Some of our families survive by tilling the soil with sweat. As long as I am in school and i'm performing well and receiving scholarships, I will never be ashamed of "cleaning plates". One of the greatest people in the world today clean plates. Oprah Winfrey cleaned plates, Nelson madela cleaned plates, and even Bill gates cleaned plates in college. I would rather work for my future and build my own legacy than to wipe Biya's ass.
...and why are we surprised? The same story recycles itself and keeps coming back every election. The same thing keeps repeating itself every election so I don't understand why people are acting surprised.
"brassy and ostentatious displays of the two wives of King Paul Biya..."-Ma Mary Are you calling Irem Biya brassy and ostentatious? wasn't she one of our most dignified first ladies or I didn't do my History homework quite well?
I think we focus too much on the negative in this site. A foreigner who goes through this site will picture Cameroon as a bleak pool of evil and hopelessness. Bad things happen in Cameroon but I have also seen a lot of good things in my beloved Country. Ahidjo was not a perfect president, definitely not, but atleast he did a lot of good things. He gave full-time scholarships to students who performed well in the G.C.E to go and abroad and went they were done, he brought them back to come and help the country. It is thanks to Ahidjo that some of our parents and people like Peter Musonge and Elizabeth Tamajong had quality education and were able to secure lucrative jobs.During his reign, Cameroon had one of the best per capita incomes in Africa, after South Africa. Whether you hate Ahidjo or you love him, the truth is that the economy was better off back then. Biya has not accomplished in 20 years, the things Ahidjo accomplished in 5 years. I am not an Ahidjo fanatic. He died when I was 2 years old. My point is, even though he is not a "the-nelson-mandela-calibre-leader" everybody wants these days, he handled the country far better than Biya did or ever will. We should not just come to this site only for a bitter tirade of words. Our gross negativivty is overshadowing all the good in Cameroon. Always look at both sides of the equation. Don't capitalize on one side and completely disregard the other side. If you do that, you are no more or less a hypocrite than all the politicians you are accusing
Rexon, you never disappoint.
Rexon, you never disappoint.
TYSON, TYSON, TYSON, TYOSN, you have suceeded in making a fool of yourself again, congratulations. It will be a waste of my time to argue with somebody who uses bias and bigotry instead of facts. I am from Bamenda and i'm damn proud to say it but I let me warn you Tyson, before you make generalized statements about people like us, check your facts. Have you ever seen anything that I have written calling on people back home to do something that they would not want to? have you ever seen anything that I have written claiming to be a politician? Without even looking into what I have previously written on this site, you just jump into your nasty conclusions about people from Bamenda. Yes! I will accept that my Bamenda people have made mistakes in the past. Atleast I have the humility to say that. Will you ever admit that not only the Bamenda people have made drastic mistakes? what about Inoni? what has he ever done to his people than send them bags of rice. What about Southwesterners? have they notmade mistakes too? Pointing fingers at Bamneda people will never solve the " heat of the political situation", that you are claiming to be undergoing. All Cameroonians have made mistakes but if you think blaming only the Bamenda people will make you sleep well at night, well go ahead. As I earlier said, Cameroon does not need people like you who are out for division and not reconciliation and cooperation. As I said before Tyson, GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBUISH. And more more thing, I am in diaspora to study crerative writing because Cameroon does not have a single creative writing department. I went abroad to study and not as an immigrant. When i'm done, I'll come back to Cameroon and i'll look at your big, fat racist face and tell you again "GOOD RIDDANCE TO BVAD RUBBISH". When change will be sweeping over Africa, people like you who believe that Cameroon will never change will be shipped out...GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH.
Hey Glenn, My real name is Nahum and I'm from Buea,Cameroon. I'm almost 20 and I study Creative Writing in minnesota, USA. I hve been reading your story and I just want to sincerely apologize for all that you've been through. Cameroonians and Africans are not bad people, it's just that we have tyrannical regimes which are controlling eveybody. I apologize again, my e-mail address is welangn@yahoo.com is you ever want to contact me. I will really like to hear more of your story. Cheers mate!
What a tragic story, really really tragic. It always feel chills running down my spine when my fellow Cameroonian youths die. It's just perplexing that young, smart kids with so much potential should die at such an early age. I think further investigationas should be carried out. There might be something more than just an accident.
By the way, good work Glenn.
Wow Tyson, I never knew somebody could write so much and make so little sense until I read what you posted above. So what exactly are you saying?Where did fri ndi, SCNC,Anglophone problem etc. come from in what Rexon said? He was merely saying how authorities collaborate with criminals and I don't get how you managed to bring the whole SCNC,Biya, Fru Ndi into the whole issue. You also had the audacity to say Cameroon will never change. When change starts to sweep over Africa, Please stay in Europe or America and continue to be the white man's slave and monkey. It shocks me that a fellow Cameroonian will be so pessimistic about his country. If America was pessimistic will they have defeated the British and secure their independence? If South Africa was pessimistic will they have killed Apartheid? If Africa was pessimistic will we have fought for their independence and ended colonialism? If Japan was pessimistic after the damage of their economy caused by World War II, will they have risen to be one of the strongest economies? People like you Tyson have been brainwashed by the whites to believe that Africans will never succeed and we will always remain inferior. Well, we don't need people like you. Good riddance to bad rubbish! Go and polish a white man's shoe while the rest of us will continue to fight for a better Africa.
Well said Rexon. Your mind is a wealth of knowledge.
To be honest, I don't even know what to say.
I don't even know what to say, to be honest.
What a prolific writer. I am impressed and proud that we have patriotic writers in Cameroon who are able to counter fictitious Eurocentric ideologies with concrete and plausible facts.Kudos Poubom Lamy, kUDOS.

The doom of the corrupt AFRICAN LEADER is inevitable. No matter how hard they try to avert it, it will always come.
Isn't Fon Doh the person who murdered an innocent SDF milant a while ago? why is he still wandering freely around the country without justive being served? how long does it take in CAMEROON to persecute a murderer? this must be a joke right?

Rexon, you have said it perfectly well.I don't know how long we will keep falling for the same tricks over and over again.

You hit the nail right on the spot eyallow...I couldn't stop laughing when I read your what you posted.
"The south has risen again"...like fathers like sons..hahaha
I sincerely hope that all Africans will realize that a United states of africa is the only solution to the plight facing to Africa today. The Western countries and Asia don't want to help us, they just want to exploit our resources for their own betterment.Don't be fooled by all the loans they are giving us or busineses they are opening in Africa. These are just accounting devices to make theirselves richer and make Africa poorer. What we need is a united nation that fully fight the westerners and asians. One country cannot fight the west. Cameroon alone cannot secure fair trade with france because what economic standing do we have? camerooon alone cannot prevent france from controlling the circulation of our own currency because what economic standing do we have? they have made us depedent on them and it's impossible to fight alone. This is what is going on in other african countries and to stop this we need to stand together. A united africa will mean that we can trade freely among ourselves and share our resources. We can look for other trading partners like Australia or New Zealand who are out for fair trade and not for exploitation. However, a united Africa does not mean one country under a single government. It will mean a federal state like America in which every country will still maintain it's sovereignty. A united states of Africa is the best thing that can ever happened to us. It will be a way to slap our oppressors in the face. Africans were never starving before they came and colonize us and we will no more starve when we finally kick them out of our lives. Please people, let us support these course.
Would you just shut up Enowmpey. Why must you people always find something or somebody to blame? Don't you know that natural accidents occur? There are certain things that are out of the human control and no matter how hard you try to prevent them. Kenyan Airways has had a good record over the years so don't try to use one incident to tarnish what they stand for. Our main aim right now is to pray for the families of the victims and not to use accidents like this to make a cheap political statement. That is just outright wrong.
