Lions beat the Wallabies by a record score, Chris Froome took the Maillot Jaune, Murray wins Wimbledon and, most importantly, the Ashes start on Wednesday. We should be playing you guys in the World Series of rounders to complete the set!

Hate to tell you Mike but Les paul didn't actually invent the electric guitar, although he was very important to it's developement. The original electric was invented by George Beauchamp - born in Texas - who joined with Rickenbaker in California to produce them commercially. Not to do down the great Les but jus' sayin' y'know.

Well I tried, I really did but the first half (or would you say the first two quarters?) didn't live up to my expectations and I fell asleep on the couch while waiting for the half-time show to start (about 1:30 am). Looks like I missed all the good bits! And of corse because I was watching on the Beeb I missed all the adverts, good and bad.

The first photo looks like something LS Lowry would have made if he ever went to Detroit. Now there's a project someone could tackle: Images from Streetview that resemble the work of famous artists. (c)2012 Nathan deGargoyle
Nikon's new D600, under two pounds / $2100? That's a bloody good exchange rate!

I love that photo Mike. Reminds me of the work of Joseph Wright of Derby, much of whose best known work features light within the image. The Father of Ghetto Lighting before the camera was invented?

So Thomas Hawk wasn't called that as a boy? It's a "nom d'internet". My surname isn't really deGargoyle but who cares. And the "Freetards" comment reminds me of the campaign by the soon to be late News of the World against paedophiles which resulted in a paediatricians house being daubed by "Paedotards". While I would never insult people with mental problems, particularly because I have one myself, the "tard" postscript takes part of a word that denigrates people who don't deserve it and uses it to insult people who certainly do! Why have a problem with that?

While my heart is with Andy my head goes with Jay and Ctein. Sorry Andy :( Maybe the most equitable and sensible result would be for Jay to use his $32, 500 to buy 6,500 copies of Kind of Bloop! Principle upheld while penalty is reduced.
So those last two would be the fish that got away? But honest they were thiiiiiiiiiiis big! ;-)
