In all honesty... I can't recapture that feeling of enthrallment and addiction to AVATAR from when i first it, or even when i saw it in theater for the first 10 times.
It's almost like the magic is gone. Perhaps if i could temporarily erase my memories and watch it for the "first" time again, then maybe...
I miss the AVATAR addiction. The need to watch it. What people called the AVATAR depression. I mean, i felt like crap when i wasn't watching it, but there was such a connection involved between me and AVATAR. WE all felt it. I miss that. I miss being tempted to spend money i shouldn't be spending to watch AVATAR again, and again, and again...
There was such a dedication and devotion to that movie. Now... i simply feel like i'm lacking. Even when i watch it on the TV now... something is missing. The magic just isn't there. Or at least, not all of it is there.

Hi everybody! How are you? POST IDEA: The first time you saw Avatar the experience was epic – what do you do when you want to recapture that feeling? That's simple for me to answer.... I just watch the film again and again and again..........
Good luck!

Same here. It's not a done deal like i made it sound like. I too have to earn it. But i am determined to do it. I don't know how or when... but i'll do it.
Then i'll return home flat broke and live on the streets with only my Laptop and a copy of AVATAR. LOL
Who knows.
Maybe some of the friends i've made from the site and the facebook typepad group would be either willing to help me or join me. That would be awesome.

At least we have AVATAR to tide us over. But i agree, it's going to be an itch we can't scratch, knowing that it's out there and we have to wait for it.
You know how there are still some theaters that play the Rocky Horror Picture show, even though it's decades old.
WEll, there should be theaters that will continually play AVATAR till the sequel comes out.
Avatar Sequel Coming in 2014
James Cameron said he expects to release his next film in 3-4 years and that it may be the sequel to AVATAR with even more 3D technology than the first version. He's also already leaked details about what will be in the next version of the film – and why it won't be called AVATAR 2. Cameron ha...

What separates a Human body from a Na'vi body is not color, height, hair, fingers and toes, tails, ears, nor any other various features mentioned above. Humans come in a variety of colors, heights, hair styles, and builds. Humans can also occasionally have various numbers of toes and fingers through birth defects. Ears, nose, tail, face and body structure can just as easily be dismissed through said defects or augmentation.
In all relativity, a Human body is not all that different from a Na'vi body in function, in aptitude, and in the fundamental quality of adaptation to their environment. The only feature that eludes this reasoning is the Na'vi Queue.
However...
It would be interesting if William Shakespeare could see AVATAR. "What a piece of work is a Na'vi, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like Eywa."
Many devoted fans of AVATAR are transfixed by the Na'vi with the same sense of awe and reverence that Shakespeare had looked upon man with.
How we are different is a Human trademark of thinking. How we are the same is a Na'vi perspective.

On many levels i can agree with you. But it is in my experience that boundaries are what makes a movie.
First movie, you always create you boundaries, your laws and such. From these boundaries a movie is made. The writer can not pass these boundaries. The director and editor can not pass the boundaries. The finished product is what we see and we can instinctively comprehend what these boundaries are and accept them, because they are a part of that world.
The trouble most sequels have is that they either over step that boundary, causing unbelievability, or they simply don't have enough room to maneuver and the film simply doesn't have an entertaining enough plot.
Though... now to contradict myself, the AVATAR universe, your right, has plenty of space to move around in. But what i fear are one of those two outcomes.

Oh, and by the way. Nice to see you again. I've been away too long!

It'll be extremely difficult. James Cameron can't simply make a sequel as good as AVATAR. AVATAR itself created so much hype that it blew the roof off. If JC wants AVATAR 2 to be as huge a success as the first, he's going to have to step it up another notch. The same tricks won't work, they won't blow this "new roof" off.
Needless to say, all of us fans across the globe will go to see it!

Hi everyone, how are you? POST IDEA: Well, half of me says that there is a need for a sequel and the other says no. I am a bit nervous about the sequel, I mean, will it be as good as the first? But I trust James Cameron, as he is not the type of director that makes a crappy movie!
I've seen AVATAR in theaters 10 times. 5 in 2D and 5 in 3D.
My first time seeing it was in 3D. It was the first 3D move that didn't use the 3D effects as a crutch, which gave it extra meaning to me.
After AVATAR left theaters in my area, I've watched the trailers about once or twice a week or watched every and any clip on the internet i could find devotedly up till about 2 months ago.
I think i can honestly say that if i were to edit every bit and clip of footage out there on the internet i've watched (Prior to DVD/Blu-ray release) I could of made my own complete AVATAR movie, scene for scene, plus some of the deleted scene's.

I really wish i had a HD television and a blu-ray player. If there was ever a reason to spend that much money in one go, that reason would be AVATAR. I just wish i had that money now. ;(
AVATAR is the only movie that lives up to the standards that normal DVD can not provide.
