No Cal native living in the UK who loves learning and pursuing creative ideas.
Interests: My work has evolved organically. Changing with technology and more significantly, the needs of my family and clients.
From art director to corporate design and marketing, to mother, teacher and project designer. Currently I'm mother and part-time design and media consultant, working with a growing list of inspiring artists and business owners. Change is constant. Best to roll with it and enjoy the ride.
Here on my blog I share patterns and project tutorials and small glimpses at other interests, mainly about family and nature. Blogging has changed a lot since I began in 2006, but this space has brought me many great friends and opportunities I'd never imagined. I'll try to always return to it.

Have a wonderful getaway, sounds blissful (getting away).
Spring is starting to smile on us too and I'm ready.
xoxo
bye February, hello March !
February never felt so long & short at the same time, not unhappy to be on school break now ! Hubby & I will be going on a lightening fast getaway in the capital (I'm always looking forward to it) next Tuesday & Wednesday. So short but long enough for breaking the routine. Today the sun is shini...

While wishing you a lovely weekend ahead, I'm also letting you know that all the pouches in the shop were marked down. I hope this ultra short post finds you happy & healthy. Thank you for your presence & support ! ox S

Not much time for blogging so I'll make a bullet point Friday post ... please bear with me ! the actual cardboard boxes from the movers shall be delivered tomorrow, thank goodness ! anyway, I've been picking small ones from local stores, and have been using them for sorting things out & putting...
It will be a special Christmas, the first in your new home - exciting. Congratulations, best of luck for finding the perfect place for mama too. We moved one year at Christmas so I decorated twigs in a big pot, I liked it, my children were less impressed.
We're getting the cold too, can't believe snow possible this week!

Well, hubby & I went to sign the lease yesterday, so I think it's safe to say that it's official now ! OK, and this is where I'm freaking out !!! We'll meet two different movers on Monday, and hopefully soon (but I think not before the middle or the end of next week), we'll have boxes to fill up...
I'm so happy you liked it. I hope it all works out well, sounds like its meant to be. If not another will come along. Thanks for the update, been thinking about you. x
it may be *the one* ...
Sorry for the lack of post. As you know, we've been on the lookout for a new place to live, and yesterday afternoon, we visited an apartment ... in our street, yes could you believe that ?! A much larger one, which has been renovated a couple of years ago. If I had to compare our current place w...

I think I can smell their goodness from here! You've inspired me to get the muffin pans out this weekend too, we'll have to stock up to get us through the big storm expected - that will be my excuse anyway ;)

Weather being particularly cozy these days, it inspired me to bake muffins yesterday evening. I thought I'd share the recipe with you, because they turned out delicious. I'm always changing one ingredient or tweaking the recipe, so they never taste the same ! These are the perfect, cozy fall...

I'm glad what I said yesterday was something many of us needed to hear. I'm in a lighter mood, the boys have both gone to school, and they currently are as I'm typing this. Hubby took care of P (over 11 y-o) who needed to be at school before 8am, and I took care of U (9 y-o) who needed to be at ...

You have a very healthy approach to staying fit and healthy, the kind of good habits that last.
I love a DVD by a ballerina too, maybe I've said before but I use Darcey Bussell's pilates DVD. I've done it so often that I now do the moves I like best without the DVD. Even though I only get to do 20 or 30 mins a day (usually only 20) it keeps me flexible. I'm hoping it will help keep arthritis at bay, it runs rife in our family.
This is a fun video link. I wish I could say I "moved" to it but instead I had seconds of dinner while I watched :)

PS, the children aren't home so I can eat and watch ;)

I won't lie, hubby & I (but myself, way more than him) have a bunch of kilos to drop. But just as much as loosing weight, we really need to tone up, and get more flexibility (back). We've been eating less (specially for dinner), better (we don't follow a diet, strictly speaking -we don't even wa...
