Wrote off local papers, nightly news, and local eye witness whatever in the 80's as the stuff of liberal arrested adolescence... I suppose it's getting harder to sell the tripe.

I am truly sorry, Joe. I know you were added a long time ago, one of the first. I don't know... Anyway, now fixed and very sorry. john
This is the result of an FCC rule change, no?

Nitwit, if the carriers plan to break net neutrality -- if they will not "leave the net alone" -- what options other than regulation do you see? It's not the carriers doing it, it's the FCC. Net neutrality previously went nowhere because it was a solution to a problem that did not exist. In steps to FCC to rectify that. Now the problem net neutrality was intended to solve exists... due to the FCC. Step out. Leave the net alone.

While we didn't need net neutrality regulations for the simple reason that it was already neutral, we do not need to its opposite either. Leave the net alone.

Want community rating, i.e. no pre-existing conditions? Fine, but then you need an individual mandate to prevent adverse selection and avoid a bad risk pool. Why? If no pre-existing conditions is something we want, why can we the citizens not be directly subjected to the costs of adverse selection? Anyway, I learned a few years ago that all of this stuff was supposed to save each of us $2500. Now it's a cost?

It was enacted according to the rules Congress and the Constitution laid out for passing laws. That is questionable. Not only was the original bill in which the ACA was inserted by the Senate entirely gutted and replaced name and all, but original bill was not a tax bill. And as we all know the ACA has been declared by the supremes a tax law. Origination does not allow for tax bills to have their genesis in the Senate.

Legislation is manmade, top down edict of the few to the many. The ACA would certainly enjoy more moral authority had it passed with the support of a majority of citizens. As it is the ACA has only enjoyed majority support from the progressive "church lady" few at the top. Top down edict, indeed.

Your reading comprehension is awesome. I take it, then, that you believe the ACA is not in need of being fixed?

What is a Keynesian economy book-ended by two recessions? A depression.

Want community rating, i.e. no pre-existing conditions? Fine, but then you need an individual mandate to prevent adverse selection and avoid a bad risk pool. And if you have an individual mandate, you need premium subsidies to keep insurance affordable for lower-income folks. There are easier ways of saying that the ACA does not work.

Stumbled into this concerning ‘catastrophists’ vs innovation and why catastrophists are always wrong. I wonder if the EU has been innovating over the past six years. I expected a different outcome while Europe shuffled through its deck of debt, yet here we are, the EU still shuffling ... or innovating?

I suppose verbal attacks and physical attacks are not so removed from one another when one first engages in dehumanization. What does Jeff call that? ... Psychopath? Something like that.

Jeff Martin: Having finally dispensed with a few monstrous hypocrites, the fact that you obliquely deride me for being impolite while allowing this cesspool of ludicrous comments places you squarely alongside my recent victims. What hypocrites? I am guessing you are referring to individuals who fall short of their own high standards ... standards higher than your own. Considering your apparent distaste for ethics, are you truly in a place to label others as hypocrites for embracing a morality beyond your own? And if you believe you are, are you not the true hypocrite? Until you embrace a personal morality by which your actions and decisions may be gauged (many point to a biblical morality while others find morality elsewhere) you are the hypocrite. The fact is that if one wants to find bravery it can be found in those who have the character to claim an ethical standard by which they may be judged and fall short. And if one wants to find a coward that coward will hiding behind a lack of personal morality by which they may be measured... the same dark place from where you cast dispersions upon the brave. If you are in need of a dragon turn to your own soul.

I have been happy with Bluehost on which I generally install Wordpress. However, I like your particular typepad theme and have found nothing that replicates it in WordPress aside from general appearance. I particularly like how clicking the name in the column to the right takes one to that particular commenter's comment within thread named beside the commenter. Most themes take one to a bio. You would do well with something mobile enabled.

Yeah, you're a nit wit alright. NitWitTroller. Isn't that the sort of thing that Jeff Martin parleyed into a dead blog? Oh, bytehead, what am I thinking. Yours is another example of satire ... biting, no burning, satire...

It's freaking satire. I suppose Jeff wishes it were. It was not. As to whether Democrats are American. My answer is, no. =Do Democrats support the American virtue of assembly and speech? Not when individuals assemble as a corporation. =Do Democrats support the American virtue of individual religious freedom? Not if that individual is employed by government. =Are Democrats actively attempting to control political speech via an unAmerican constitutional amendment? Harry Reid is. =Do Democrats support the American virtue of the 2nd amendment? No. =Do Democrats support the American virtue of property rights? Not if the EPA wants it. =Do Democrats respect the American virtue as represented by our flag? No. =Do Democrats respect the American virtue of choice and not engage in economic activity? The ACA says no. =Do Democrats respect American virtue? Democrats are so removed from American virtue that if asked they will reply 'What is American virtue?'. They don't know. Sadly none of this is satire...

Alternatively we could follow the unAmerican lead of Democrat leader Harry Reid and limit political speech altogether via a constitutional amendment. Would this have an impact on FEC? Unlikely. But then when FEC pulled down his site he rendered a 1st Amendment discussion, at least in regard to his circumstances, mute. No?
