I'm so torn when it comes to this show. On the one hand: It's just so terrible and painful to watch this kids. I mean poor Taylor alone brings enough cringe to the show with her awkward teenage looks and thoughts on money. Then there's PC who is all about flaunting is EVERYTHING and he has the nerve to call girls stupid little bitches and then Camille. Sweetie, after the Deans at Harvard see this nonsense I doubt you'll be able to step foot on campus. Then there's the entertainment value which Bravo is so freaking good at: People are going to watch. It's another one of those 'just can't look away' shows. Yeah it's wrong and yeah they're assholes and yeah, Sebastian needs a haircut and Kelli needs to get some balls. But you have to admit, it's kind of hard not to watch. I have a Season Pass on itunes. Not because this show is Emmy worthy but because I question just how low these kids can go. I do also wonder if they realize just how much they're jeapordizing their futures. Screw people finding out about Facebook and MySpace accounts. This shit is 'reality' and they're going to get it in the end.

For the record I'm pretty annoyed with all of them at this point including Jacqueline. It's true that I love her but I'm sick of her 'well I just want everyone to love everyone else' attitude. She needs to get a pair and stand up to someone. ANYONE. And yes, I do feel bad for Danielle, no one asked her about it they just made assumptions and went straight to talking about her. Of course I'd be freaked out if I heard that someone was a kidnapper or anything like that but if you've known her for that long...I don't know I would just ask. It's more like they were looking to find fault with her about something and they found it.

Ahhh...I like it a lot. Good work, team!

The whole thing with Jacqueline, Danielle and Ashley made me want to step in and say HOLD UP! Why Danielle got involved, I have no idea. It was so bizarre. It seemed like Danielle and her daughter Christine were trying to get Ashley in trouble and so they had to tattle on her to Jacqueline. Though the beginning of the episode with J's mom guilt, etc. was a nice set up for the Danielle intervention but it was really unnecessary and rude. But J didn't seem to mind so whatever.

I think that these women being of color is what makes this part of the RH franchise different. Which I hate to say but it's true and when I've talked to other women of color in Atlanta and outside of the area they all agreed that it was a poor representation of our race. There are several women of color who are wealthy. I know several but none of them would go broadcast their wealth on television. This is unfortunate but to be honest as women of color we strive and have spent our lives trying to project ourselves as best we can through our work and this just perpetuates a stereotype that's been out there for ages. It's sad that that needs to be admitted and it's sad that there still is that double standard. For if this was Real Housewives of New York again, it would be ridiculous but I doubt that there would be such a sensitivity to how these women were portraying themselves and their race.

Yes, Amanda Seyfried is also on Big Love and also Alpha Dog. But for the most part, she's totally "that girl from Mean Girls". And y'all, it wasn't THAT bad. I mean it wasn't like Vantage Point or Drillbit Taylor bad so I would probably Netflix it or buy it from Hollywood video on sale but you need not pay $10 to watch it and the Musical is WAAAAY better. I also think that someone mentioned adaptations from musicals to movies and it's true that it is difficult because of camera movements and such. I just think it could have been better (Hairspray rocks my socks off) and that Meryl - dear sweet Meryl - wasn't right for the part.

In response to the 'OMG How old are you?/How did you not know this was a show?' questions: I am 24. I just never saw the show and only had some vague knowledge of its existence. I hadn't really thought about it until the movie came out. This reminds me of the other day when my roommate asked me what 'LOST' was.

Heh! No clue what it is. In fact I just now noticed that it isn't in English. Interesting. Actuall the poster in general isn't really representative of the movie anyway, so I have no clue why the studio decided to go with that. Rich has a better photo on his review: http://fourfour.typepad.com/fourfour/2008/06/this-blows.html

I'm with Isabel. I had no clue what Ryan Adams looked like until now. I suppose that was a good thing.

You know what, I really don't mind 'taking one for the team' when I know that the rest of the summer is very promising. This is just a bit of a movie lull but y'all, so much awesome stuff is due out later. I'm super excited.

1) I knew someone would bring up Veronica Mars and I hate to say it but I have never seen a single episode. I might get it from Netflix now though. Apparently it's good... 2) The Dracula opera was amazing. I mean it wasn't just a Dracula opera but it was a Dracula opera with PUPPETS. It really doesn't get any better than that. Seriously a great movie and it makes me that much more excited for 'Step Brothers' and 'Pineapple Express'. The Summer of Judd.

Go see it! Of course! I personally didn't like it but don't let me stop you. For the record, I don't read reviews before I see a movie. I just look up what is coming out, check out the actors and then go see it. So yeah, go enjoy. And you might like it but my point of view was that it wasn't the greatest movie ever but oh, did it have potential.

This is actualy the first atrocious movie I've seen in awhile. Then again I have three (!!) on tap for this weekend which means that there is ample opportunity for every fiber of my being to be sucked out of my eyeballs. Wahoo! Also, I have never been a VanDamme or Segal fan. But seriously, Michael Bay, my god, Michael Bay. I really, really wish he had made this movie.

My plan was to read the book before I went to see the movie and Borders didn't have it in stock. So now I have it, I started reading it and I'm finding that the intrigue in the book is far better. Anne is also a little more compelling. The movie seems to switch a lot of things around and misses huge parts of the book. Survey says that Philippa Gregory is an excellent historical fiction writer and Peter Morgan has been amazing at adapting screenplays (Last King of Scotland and The Queen are two of his best) but this one left a lot to be desired. Anyway, thankfully there are DVDs and Showtime.

Men are so easy to fuck with, with the mind games. So sorry about your mom though, but it sounds like she's taking everything in stride.

You say cheese doodles. I would say that burritos have helped to shape me today. And lots of guacaomle. Your honesty and candor help...throw in the fact that you are generally warm and inviting in person and people will inevitably stick around.
