"Brainstorming is really really good unless you do it waaay too long and sabotage your project." Yes. Exactly. And that's why I need a weekly #dreamyear call, instead of a monthly one... :) Any suggestions for how to determine when you've brainstormed enough and need to get moving?

Ow! Ow! Ow! :( I'm sorry Cody (and you guys) had to experience that. I am so excited for Story...I can't believe we have to wait an entire eight months for it!! Agreed about the ministry culture...makes it even more daunting to try to step into ministry.

I can't properly convey my gratitude. I hope you won't tire of these words: Thank you. (And please thank Ainsley, on my behalf, for sharing you with all of us. What an amazingly selfless wife!)

I'll be praying, as well. And remember, where two or three are gathered... That's more than a little help. :) Be encouraged!

Well, pink eye for my daughter, a persistent and smart raccoon who keeps digging holes in our roof but escaping the trapper's traps, and the assurance of rejection from my mentor. This day is off to an incredible start! :) LOL!

Praying with you. :)
Turn it on it's head: If you want to know if you're making history, look around you. If you're *not* surrounded by people who are doing it, too, then be the trendsetter. :) Ignite a spark in your group of friends. :)
:) *speechless* :)
Elliot - Exactly! :) And Ben, absolutely no sarcasm in these words, "Good luck with this!" I know you can. I know you will.

Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! In this self-obsessed culture of ours, everyone wants to have their own input, their own say, their own opinion heard (and obeyed.) (I've been absolutely guilty of this myself.) In our desire to include everyone, we've forgotten that teams always have coaches. Or at least the good teams, do. A goat with multiple heads isn't going anywhere...or at least not anywhere worthwhile. Your last sentence is nearly true: Leadership by Committee is careless. However, Execution by Committee is crucial.

I'm shakin' in my boots. Some days, it's from excitment. Some days, it's from fear. I love it. :)

Hey Ben, is there a dress code for the conference?
Jay, is the offer still on the table? I'm coming and would love to add my spouse for free! (With the discount plus your gift!) We're still waiting to see about his PTO at work, but I'm fairly certain we're going to be able to make it a go. :) And Ben, the minute I saw "Welcome to Dream Year" in my Inbox, I nearly lost control of bodily function. Hopefully we'll be able to change that by January 2012. Right? :)
Lord, have mercy...

Wow! I've never heard anyone else voice this sort of feeling, but I can completely relate to what you're saying. I get that same sort of initial, "Eh...I don't really like this..." sort of reaction. But, an hour (or a day) later, I'm enthralled with the idea (if it actually has merit) and read to get it started. Good to know I'm not alone. :)

I've got to agree with Dan...I turned the movie off, because I couldn't stand it anymore. Not Julia Roberts at her best... :( And, as far as coaches and all that, I need tons and tons and tons of positive reinforcement. A verbal undressing, private or public, absolutely kills me. I'm noticing that my daughter is exactly the same way. I'm working on learning to parent her with this in mind. :)
Dude, more often than not, I'm convinced that I have *no* likability factor. :(

Please don't move it from Chicago. That city is like none about Story. Chicago's got one of the richest (hi)Stories ever! If you need someone to help you scout venues, I'd be willing to give it a shot... (Never done it before in a city that big, but I'd be willing to help in any way I could!)
