Didn’t see you of course. Too preoccupied trying to find a night stop. Boveney is the last chance before Windsor having turned the empty moorings at Maidenhead down. As it turned out there were plenty of opportunities in Windsor (unusually in our experience).
Well Ross - it is just expected. Usually Pat has it done before I've even got the mooring lines secure, but in this instance with good reason. Our first stop by the facilities hut was in a canyon between old warehouses, mills or whatever else they have up here. Rather a gloomy spot in all. Much better round the corner. M

Whilst we have always been very pleased with our boat, over the years there have been some additions to the general fit out. Very few of these with hindsight would have better been included in the basic build specification of the boat and this is almost always to do with... Continue reading

Many years ago, in a previous life, I had the opportunity of a week-end on a narrowboat at the invitation of a colleague. It was on the Oxford Canal. I don’t know where, but the boat was in present day terms “basic”. It would have been in the late ‘60s... Continue reading

Nuggler was a custom build in 2002 by Braidbar Boats and is based on a Tim Tyler shell. We chose Braidbar because at the 2001 Crick show, they were exhibiting the boat which came closest to our pre-conceived idea of what we were looking for and because we very quickly... Continue reading

Julian, This is out of my experience I am afraid. You will need to get a quote from a boatyard that specialises in this sort of thing. Sounds expensive. Depends how bad the corrosion is in the engine bay. The best you can do there is to have it back to steel as best you can and then treat it with anti-rust epoxy perhaps. Look at www.rust.cu.uk Mike

How long is your boat. We are 60 and as far as I can tell we wouldnt be able to get to Ripon. However thanks for the encouragement.

I bought a job lot ages ago. About 20 litres. Cost a lot of money. Not sure if I will repeat when it runs out. Will try and find the original invoice & let you know.
