Hi mary Grace! It sounds like you had a nice quiet day too! I am making a couple of the weighted blankets to donate, but also hope to make a few extra $$ to feed my sewing habit, lol. It is something about the weight that is calming. I read testimonials about the blankets, and was shocked at how many people they have helped with such a wide variety of problems. I guess they even help young children with no specific problems, other than stress meltdowns. Thanks for visiting, Barb

Weighted lap pads for Autism.............................
Weighted lap pads. Halloween headbands for the kiddies. A table runner made from a panel. Have you ever heard of these? One of my friends is making these per directions from an occupational therapist. The lap pads weigh about 1 1/2/ to two pounds, depending on the requirement of the ind...

The quick block.....................
This is the latest "quick block" that comes each month along with the intense applique' Twas the night before Christmas block. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I get this one done, as the other one takes me most of a whole month. I never have been fond of piecing, but with the use ...
Very good tip Doris, thanks! I have room for something to stand, but not hang.

Storage and a new table runner.............................
Ok................ so everyone that knows me, well, knows I am organized...there are a few other words they may say, but lets just say organized, lol .I have used many things to organize the stuff you keep near your sewing machine, and discarded them all for one reason or another. I happ...

Last day of summer:(
Someone mentioned that today is the last day of summer. Wow! Where did this summer go? Probably because it didn't get hot till August, it seems way too short. Or maybe as I get older, I am minding the winter more than I used to. Here is the wall quilt I hang up every summer. It depicts what...
Great tip Mickey!!! I hope you will enjoy the wallhanging. It sounds as if it will have a great new home.

The hairy armed name drawer has done his thing..... Congratulations Mickey!!!!! I hope you have a spot for this little quilt! Maybe it can be a consolation prize for your upcoming hand surgery!
Thanks Doris! It was a pretty panel, and simple to whip up!

Quickie table runner.............
I bought this panel on a recent "Shop hop". It is called "classic garden" by Northcott fabrics. I liked it in the store, and had no idea what to do with it. A woman piped up, and said "It would make a great table runner". I loved the colors, and of course the hydrangea fabrics! I simply sq...
Thank you all for the comments on the table runner! I have seen some really cute Christmas and Halloween panels that would make great table runners too! I sometimes use a panel to get “warmed up” for machine quilting. It helps my brain remember the stipple motion.

Easy Southwestern Chicken Soup..........
1 1/2 lbs chicken (leftover works fine) or cut fresh boneless breast into chunks. 1 onion minced garlic to taste 2 cans seasoned diced tomatoes including juice( I used the mexican seasoned ones with mild green chilies) 1 1/2 cups frozen corn, or as much as you want. 1 pk taco seasoning, or cumin...

New baby.............
Shhhhhhh, I don't think the new mom reads my blog, so it's ok to show you this before she sees it! I have a new nephew, named Cayce. When you have a new baby in the family, he has to have a quilt! This is another of the disappearing nine patch pattern. The fabric has tiny frogs in a lime green...
Thanks kathie and Mickey..I love making something for someone. It would be a lot quicker (and cheaper) to go buy something, certainly. I just always feel as if I am putting love for the person into what I make. I remember when my mother made all handmade gifts, I used to think it was uncool. Now I totally understand WHY she made things……….
