Waaaaaay off thread: now that Bergdahl has plead guilt, will Mr. Wolf be filling us in with what he couldn't write about before?

I don't give a rip how "good" a CEO of a 501 (c) 3 is. You wanna make the big bucks? Go to work for Exxon, HP, General Foods, usw. If one expects huge compensation working for a charity, one has already missed the mark, IMO.

" ... the credible threat of force ..." That is the nut of it, IMO. That is why the force cuts our military have experienced are damn near suicidal, also IMO. It just boggles my mind that so many so-called Americans seem to be incapable of understanding.

I hope you're enjoying Paradise, young man - I'm pretty sure it's significantly better than this side. See you in a while ...

Sorry, dude. No way bringing him back was right. I appear to be in the minority, but my view has always been: He made his bed, let him sleep in it. I don't give a rip what kind of sensitive little snow-flake he is. He's an adult + made a choice = pay the price End of story.

"That is hypocritical." It sure is. But then, Washington, D.C. is full of hypocrites.

"Like it or not, today we are part of this larger world and must carry out our part." This is why I would never vote for Ron Paul, whose foreign policy appears to simply be Isolationism. "Today we have less of a military shock absorber to take surprise in stride ..." Yep. This guy needs to run for President.

"Turkey appears to be allowing ISIS to resupply from its territory mostly without interdiction." Why am I not surprised? This is the first I've heard of this and nobody in the media, that I know of, is reporting it. Including Fox. Oh, man. I hope I'm there when Obama stands and renders an account of his Presidency to the King.

I have wondered about the unwillingness of Washington to accept a free and independent Kurdistan. I suspect the fecal chunk floating in the punchbowl is the PKK, the Communist Party of Kurdistan. Between that, and back-channel sniveling from Turkey to Washington, I'm pretty sure the US directly arming the Peshmerga is a dead letter nonevent. Something really huge would have to occur to change that, I suspect. From what I remember reading about Turkey, the last decade or so, they appear to be more than half way in the pocket for a Caliphate already, so I don't see anything serious happening to them via ISIS. Not really liking this, but it's Obama's call ... and we all know what a go-getter he is ... And screw Baghdad. They had their chance.

Crap. Unlike SecState Clinton, I had no issue with what you did, young man. After all you survived, it grieves me to read of your untimely death. The Lord be with you and your loved ones.

Great speech. I wish I could have been there. He nailed it exactly. We should be arming the Peshmerga to the teeth, including A-10s, Apaches, and Blackhawks. They can pay for with oil revenues. Screw Baghdad. They had their chance and threw it away. I wouldn't give them one more 5.56mm round.

I think pot should be classified along side any form of ethanol (beer, wine, whiskey, etc). They both have significant health consequences with prolonged heavy use. One possible difference though, IIRC, is the effect on the Endocrine system. THC much more so than alcohol. And that ain't good. That said, there is significant evidence that THC is a pretty effective analgesic - for both physical and emotional pain, just like ethanol. I suspect that THC, a fat soluble compound, is more subtly risky because the brain is mostly composed of fat. So, if treated the same as alcohol: 1. - yes 2. - yes 3. - yes

"So before I left, I prayed and I asked God to protect my heart from those things ..." That, Brother, is one of the wisest things I've every read. I wish I'd have been as wise. Alas ... And like Grim said, great speech.
