Don't you just love getting things in the post? Even when they're ordered by you and you know they've been dispatched from wherever, it's still nice to get your hands on the packaging and rip it open to find the goodies inside... My bits and bobs have arrived from Purple... Continue reading

A Happy Hooker
Talk about building up posts with sexy titles to then find out it's about crocheting! So I guess that's 'bye-bye' to a few readers! You may recall that in my last blog post I was hoping to cast on Cocoknits Prairie Boots and make some progress with my Beekeepers Quilt?... Continue reading

Thanks Lorraine - that's very kind of you to say so! If dpn's aren't for you, do try knitting using the magic loop method which essentially uses one long circular needle. It's great because you don't have worry about stitches falling off or losing a dpn (which I do, a lot!) making the rest of the set redundant!
Be warned though, once you're hooked, that's it. One pair of hand knitted socks is never enough!
Sock Fest (No Spoilers)
I joined Socktopus' Knit Love Club as a little Christmas treat to myself and I am such a happy knitter having done so! I've knitted lots and lots of things over the years and I love the challenges that knitting presents even after years of doing, principally, the same thing. I realise I can knit...
I think you should be able to get yarn on prescription with all its health providing properties! ;)
Hello - is there anyone there?
It's been a while since my last post and I'm not sure if there's anyone still out there? I've had some health issues to deal with and so had to take some time off from blogging which made me very sad. Thankfully, I was still able to get some knitting in and joining the Socktopus - Knit Love Club...
Thanks Lorraine - that's good to know!

Oh no! I suffered from that last year and it's so awful. Unfortunately rest and some physio was the only thing that helped me and I'm still a bit nervous about hurting it again. It's like my hand and wrist has a pain memory that it can't forget.
Good to hear you're still hanging in there though and I'm not talking to myself like a crazy person!
xx

Oooo - germs at half term. Not good. Good to hear Toby's feeling better now though. Gorgeous pic of Toby & Amy btw. What a lovely bond they have!
I love the shopping basket full of animals. I'm imagining a LCR supermarket where you could shop for super cute animals in delightful knitted outfits. Too cute!

germy half termy
Last weeks half term break turned into a rather germy affair for us when poor Toby came down with a mystery virus and reacted with his usual high temperature fever of 103o - 104o. He looked really awful and was groaning a lot and that together with the really high temperature had me on high aler...

Love your pic. Hadn't realised you had teenage ASBO squirrels in your neck of the woods too!

Hello November
This is not one of those charmingly named barf-o-lanterns. This is what a squirrel did to my son's pumpkin this afternoon. Gross, but kind of funny too. So my 30 day dress better challenge only really lasted 7 days having been hit with a nasty cold (still coughing), a weekend away and the re...
thanks Lorraine! It's the first time I've had any success. Mostly they just look like I've hacked them with a carving knife so I definitely can recommend the Pumpkin Master tool kit! Can't believe I've not got to put it away for 12 months!

Making Monday - Hallowe'en
So it's that time of year again, where parents begin to dread the prospect of having to knock on their neighbours doors simply for their children to demand sweets (which have been deposited there earlier by said parent!) from them. Mr C hates Hallowe'en and has done ever since A and S were littl...
