You're welcome, Carla. I am SO there as well, wanting to make this a part of me. This is SO necessary for beginnings...AMEN! xoO
Dear kate, I wish you a time of listlessness that is felt fully and then cycled out of as soon as you are ready. What a great way to accept and be with life! I so fight listlessness and other difficult feelings. Futility and disquiet result. I appreciate your post and take inspiration from it. I so like your palettes. Do you use some fancy graphic design program to do that (like Adobe)? I would love to be able to do this! much love, xoO

It is so beautiful, kate, I love it and the idea behind it as well. Sometimes I think that faith is believing that ultimately love will transform. xoO

I really like the artichoke picture, kate. The changes in it are beautiful, I think. And as for your father--oh my!--great genes. I enjoy getting to know you better! xoO

I really love how you are using BOLD--not to force yourself to do undesirable things or fearful things in a pressured way--but to having fun with it! I will enjoy witnessing how you are BOLD this year, kate! My word is here: And it's a big odd, but it makes sense, I think when you read the post :) xoO

I love these words too. And the thought that we impart so much significance to New Years, yet indeed every day is a new beginning and can be a new beginning in significant ways if we want it to be. I really love the picture too, kate. Beautiful! xoO

Okay, here it is, Carla, and it goes with yours in all sorts of interesting ways: Hope it makes sense! Blessings, O
OH, I love it Carla. It goes with Patti Digh's "Letting Go..of Striving" essay so beautifully. I was also thinking of "allow" but chose differently (I'll post it later)--and also considered but ultimately rejected "unfolding" and "unfurling". I was wanting a word that captures the spirit of "allow" but incorporated some other things too. Anyway, "allow" is wonderful!! 2011 will be an "allowing" year of trust and surprises...Happy New Year and much love to you this year and always, xoO
This is an important time for reflection, for looking at the upcoming year, for some--choosing a "word"--for introverts, looking at the remaining years we have--20--30--40--and wondering what the remaining years will hold. I love when people light up their trees. Peace, O

A wonderful Solstice to you, kate, the last few hours of it, at least. Yes, the days will continue to lengthen and I am so glad too. Soon, in the summer we'll be outside until 10:30pm! Peace and love to you, xoO

Oh, kate, what a balanced decision to make! It sounds like your holidays will be all the better for it, too. Playing and enjoying life--perfect--and you've inspired me to do the same. I was going to PUSH to get another post out today (and it would be striving); instead I'm going to do some other things and slow the pace down a bit :) Your activities look so nice! Peace, blessings, more play, and more joy, xoO

I didn't know that you could merge pictures and backgrounds, so I appreciate your explaining that. It's beautiful. I liked this post a lot because you shared more about yourself in this one, and I feel like I understand some things that you've alluded to better. Letting of the hardest, yet most important tasks we have to do here on earth right up to the very end. Beautiful post, kate. xoO

This is something that it's important for each of us to remember all the time. It all begins and ends with God. And that when I take care of myself spiritually, the rest falls into place. Thank you for the reminder, Carla, and I liked your story. xoO
Kate you are absolutely right! There is always more abundance if we look. I wish more people would think this way... xoO

OH, kate, I love the idea of it as being "liquid beauty". Now I'm going to call it that all the time so that it will remind me to be grateful that we live in such an amazing part of the country! xoO

Yes, to have family at all is a blessing and then to be able to be together is a double blessing. I too enjoy the picture. It's interesting to see your photos farther north as the climate changes. It is so similar to here, as I think you are only perhaps 250 or so miles north of me. xoO

What a gorgeous photo, kate. It was a great day 200 or so miles south as well. So unexpected and yes--glorious! You will laugh at this: I saw your previous photos and your signature "KI" but at first thought--hmmm, this must be an Asian sentiment, like "chi" or "ying" or "yang". Duh, with this one I finally got it--your initials! Peace, love, blessings, O

Ah, gratitude! What is more important in life? I'm sure I don't know. What a beautiful photograph, Kate. I too think that ungift gifts are very special. Kelly Kikipotamus the Hobo has a regular blog post called "Grace in Small Things" and I think that it is noticing and being grateful for the SMALL things that really makes the difference in being present and being happy. Peace and love, O
