I can't recall going to school in August. Working class kids live in areas mostly represented by Labour MPs and councils what have they ever done for them nothing. This is totally down to a collapse in morals nothing more nothing less than that. Why when we know what is going on are parents allowing their kids out. I say this as a working class kid who's family got out of our inner London council estate because of Maggies Right to buy. Thank God she gave us hope.

I think you will find I was arguing against, as I don't think brutaility is justice, I was saying that people need to consider some of these things in amking the arguement for the death penalty and the fact that a living hell being locked up can often be worse, especially if life meant life.

A living hell is often worse than a quick death. Probably why Fred West and Harold Shipman killed themselves. In US some families campaign against lethal injection as it is too quick and painless if you want to bring it back here we will also have to have the debate about whether or not we want a quick painless death or a slightly longer one with an element of pain involved, for example Tariq Aziz Sadam Hussains foreign minister had his head taken off when he was hung. Do supporters also want to go for public executions, or do we keep it out of site and out of mind? All ones we also need to consider in the debate.

This MP is obviously in for appointment as a Ministerfor showing such totally blind loyalty. Spending money on one single line is madness, how does getting to Birmingham slightly faster help Norwich, Portsmouth, Derby, Glasgow Devon and Cornwall etc it does not. Then consider how much money will be available to spend on lines to any of these places, well not very much as it will all go on HS2. Spending so much money on this one single thing and breaking the bank in the process is madness, it won't help our economy one single bit.

How about because its one single line, how does getting to Birmingham slightly faster help Norwich, Portsmouth, Derby, Glasgow Devon and Cornwall etc it does not. Then consider how much money will be available to spend on lines to any of these places, well not very much as it will all go on HS2. So it's not really a good idea then eh?

The establishment left right and centre is being found to be dishonest and corrupt. We need honesty and openess and that is no where to be found anywhere in the EU. That is why people are pushing to leave it.

MPs should not go gunning for the newspapers now. Some even think it is only the Murdoch papers, its all of them. Then it will be the the Labour parties mouth piece the BBC. I really can't wait for that one to fall. The News of the world really is just one of a long line of pillars of the establishment to fall, which started with the MPs, then the banks. We need a new era of honesty and openess, not lets turn a blind eye, political and business favours. There was nothing more nauseating than Brown yesterday, we know what you were up to yourself. You are not the solution leave the stage, do your constituents a favour, save the taxpayer money and leave.

Let me warn politicians that they should not go gunning for the media now. Unfortunately the media just joins a long line of very damaged institutions that started with MPs then went to the banks and now the newspapers (or one of them anyway). All newspapers will be found pretty soon to have been engaging in such tactics, not just the Murdoch ones. Then there is the BBC, the Labour party mouthpiece, they will then be next. The old ways, the priveledges that those within the establishment have enjoyed for far too long need to change.

I would have thought that paying out for services to support the unemployed costs money, therefore isn't it better that these people are employed locally not on the dole.
I would have thought that if the jobs were local it would help the local economy and thus the local council, who don't have to then pay out for the extra services required by the unemployed.

what gets me about the Lib Dems is that there is this accepted wisdom they got the blame for the cuts. On the doorstep they got the blame because they have shown through their actions that they have no place in Government. Just take Vince Cable as an example shooting off his mouth left right and centre from everything from Murdoch to immigration, he should have been sacked long ago, but I am glad for us that he wasn't. Then on things like the Human rights act or immigration people on the doorstep knew full well that the Lib Dems were hampering any action. Then we have speeddy gonzalies Chris Hume the windmill king and the totally out of his depth Nick Clegg. As we find up and down the country the Lib Dems don't don't cut the mustard, stop blaming the cuts that have not really happened yet, the Lib Dems can find the blame a lot closer to home.

All of the examples you use are last centuary or one before that, when life expetency was far lower. All were extremely rich and priveledged and as someone has already said came from rotten boroughs, apart from Churchill. How do you have any opinion of what the man and woman in the street are thinking, if you have never been one yourself. Going from college to MP does not in most respects work.

Is a low carbon economy one where we don't have any electricity because we have closed all the coal fired power stations and replaced them with windmills that don't store electricity and don't work when there is no wind?

Deference to MPs why Lord Sailsbury, should this working class boy not be standing as a Conservative candidate in May, I should know my place and let my better's such as MPs continue doing what they want with my money, let them buy as many duck houses as they want. What a dreadful outdated attitude you have SIR!

Sack Vince Cable once and for all. He lives in a total ivory tower totally detached from how the rest of the population think. Cameron is totaly right in his speech and he now needs to do something about it. Under Labour ten's of thousands were allowed in, before that it was ten of thousands and it should go back to that again. Despite the claims of some people on here many many more came into the country from outside the EU, than from inside.

Well if they don't want to travel with the great unwashed then go by car. God forbid anyone would actually speak to our great politicians, some people's attutude on here of putting people on thrones. Other people need to talk and work on trains too. I have not travelled long distance onn the train for years, don't think I could afford even Standard class. NIcholas Winterton was a snobb of the worst kind.

In this town where we pay up to 5p a litre more for our fuel because the only supermarket fuel is supplied by Tesco's is not something I often feel like celebrating. Yes and somehow we have two big Tesco's in one town, h'mm how did our local Cllr allow that? often mean to ask them. So Tim, you are only right to a certain extent, some of these complanies have given us choice, yes, but they have probelms such as the News of the World being linked to SKy through News International and limiting the exposure of the population to test cricket. Tesco's and its aggresive treatment of our farmers and its effect on local shops in our town centre and effect on fuel prices both here in Aylesbury and throughout the country and its doggy use of tax dodges in Jersey and Luxembourg. GLAXO and its overcharging for drugs to the NHS and Ryan Air and its charging of a £ everytime you want to spend a penny on its flights.

Livingstone has and always will be a liar, he is also a closet communist which was clearly shwon on Question Time two weeks ago when he was arguing his support for the North Vietnamese Viet Cong. Historian Niall Ferguson absolutely ripped shreads off him. He is also despite his much practised nice bloke image not a very nice person, anyone who has ever come across him knows this, there are plenty of examples of this, such as comparing a jewish reporter to a Nazi guard at a death camp. My Aunt lives in the next road to him, she says he never looks up, and if anyone God forbid spoke to him he looks as though he'd rip their head off. He as anyonbe knows does his very best to cultivate every single ethnic minority. He is clever but if Boris beats him again, I really hope we will see the end of this very Odious man.

This is meant to be about reducing the debt. Anyone who starts openly talking about going down to public spending of 30% of GDP is playing right into the hands of Labour and their mates at the BEEB. Deal with the debt first then you can look at reducing the size of the state beyond 2007 levels after that.

As someone who is standing in May's election I know having knocked on hundreds if not thousands of doors over the last few years how annoying people find the fact that we live in a supposedly prospereous country but have third world roads. If I had a £ for every time I have been told I don't know what we pay our road taxes for I would be a millionaire. And it isn't just roads its pavements as well, I have spoken to old people who won't go out becuase they are afraid of falling on uneven or potholed pavements. I expect the money will be used here as well. It's people calling this expenditure silly that has made this problem so huge, even this amount won't solve the problem.
