How to Optimize the Traffic You're Getting from Pinterest

What if Your Products Sell Well Offline but not Online?
Today's question: What do I do if my products sell well offline (at craft fairs, etc.) but don't sell well online? Today's guest: Bethany of Annie and Olive This is a wonderful question, first posed to me in a comment on this blog. I'm sure many of you Etsy sellers might be wondering the same...

Tips for Creating an Elevator Pitch for Your Handmade Business

Thanks for letting us know about Survey Tool, Chris. I hadn't heard of it.
Some Customers Won't Complain. They Just Won't Come Back.
The following customer service tip comes from my husband, a usually quiet, unassuming man. A recent negative experience with customer service changed his purchasing habits with one company forever. For many years, my husband has visited a particular movie rental chain for all of our family'...
Thanks so much for your kind words and exitement about the product description lessons, Deepak!
Concerning your question about using an ampersand in place of the word "and" -- I would advise against it. The ampersand is really only appropriate in a few cases, and a product description would not be one of them. I found this interesting article about ampersands and their proper use. Perhaps it will help you. http://www.betterwritingskills.com/tip-w002.html
Thanks again for your question!

What a sweet video! I have a hard time capturing videos (and sometimes photos) of Mason, too. Graham did a great job coloring!
One more thing from Father's Day....
Graham recently revealed (to me anyway - others may have already seen it) that he is quite capable of coloring in the lines! Just about every coloring project that I got from preschool was all in one color and very quickly scribbled....he's not been one to sit down and focus on the coloring :) B...

Project Life: Vacation Mode
School's almost out for us (Ella has just 3.5 days of first grade left) and it seems like everybody has summer break on the brain, so I figured this was a good time to share my Project Life pages from our spring break vacation back in April. Week 15 started with Easter and ended with the first t...

I love comparison pictures like this. Kids change so gradually throughout the year that it's sometimes hard to see the differences. A collage like this one makes it more obvious.
Looking forward to seeing pics of Graham and Ellie this summer. I know ya'll will have FUN together!

Masterpieces of a Budding Artist . . . or not
This week, I had the rare treat of going back in time 35 years to see the artistic side of my 5-year-old self. What fun! While I was at my parents' house on Mother's Day weekend, my mom gave me a bag of memorabilia that she's saved over the years. I guess she thought it was time to pass the m...

Pickle and Cross Bones?
As promised in an earlier post, here are some photos of Mason's face painting experience at the Pickle Festival. While we waited in line, I asked him what he wanted painted on his face, fully expecting him to say "Spiderman" or some other type of superhero. Nope. He wanted "a pickle" (fit...
