Thanks Ad. That is useful. Nothing is policy. The Government has taken nearly a year to respond to PACACs response to Chilcots 7 year inquiry. This is arthritic sloth pace. No intention of correcting the power abuse that sent our brave soldiers to die in vain. Paul Flynn
Dredful. They are both insensitive and loose-tonged. I am very unsympathetic to them and their views. Paul Flynn M.P for Newport West, A.S dros Orllewin Casnewydd, 01633 262 348/ 020 7219 3478 / 0788 792 5699

That is correct Ad. The only practical solution is repatriation to Myanmar as the scale of the problems of permanent settlement are impossible to manage. Paul Flynn

Brexit is attractive in theory but impossible in practice. As each new Brexit horror emerges public opinion will shift to the position pre-referendum of 95% of Labour MPs. Paul Flynn M.P for Newport West, A.S dros Orllewin Casnewydd, 01633 262 348/ 020 7219 3478 / 0788 792 5699

Thanks Ad for your kind thoughts and good wishes.\My thinking is very close to yours. Gloom on Thursday was changed to joy with the exit poll. Something vital is happening. A return to the politics of hopss and idealism and away from the politics of greed and grab. Looking forward to the PLP meeting on Tuesday. All peace and unity? No. Alan was not imposed. There was a shortlist of 5 I believe including the late Reg Kelly who had challenged sitting MP Roy Hughes at a previous selection The Newport Labour Parties would not stand for candidates being imposed without a local vote. I have quibbles about that selection and the elimination of some local candidates. But ultimately the choice was the members in Newport East. I always face re-selection About time you revived your own ambitions? Surely all parties should choose the best candidate preferably a local person who represents their constituents because they know the problems that affect the area they represent. I am a Labour Party member and have been for many years I once considered putting myself forward as a councillor but was put off by the Labour Party policy of all women shortlists as I would want to represent a ward that chose me because they thought I would represent them the best not because I had the right bits. So maybe there is fault on all sides Commenter name: Nicola Bodman Commenter email: [email protected] IP address: 82.0.122.131 Authentication: None Comment Actions: ---------------- Unpublish this comment: Delete this comment: Mark this comment as spam: Edit this comment: Enjoy! Thanks. I am watching a great deal of CNN these days. They are great-impartialmintelligent reportingand anathema to Trump. Surely it cannot go with politics of lies and impulsive dangerous acts that inflame frozen conflicts throughout the planet. Good luck! Dear Geoff, Please forgive my hijacking of my husbands email. It was lovely to be reminded of your Dad. Jim was my supervisor when I first worked at the DHSS in SovereignHouse. I was a stroppy but idealistic teenager - foolish enough to take on the chairing of the Civil Public Servants Association at the office. Jim was a grade higher than I and was a strong voice in the Civil Service Union. Bearing in mind that this was during the early 70s and we were at war with Sir Keith Joseph, I almost certainly owed my job to the fact that I had a wonderful and protective supervisor. They tried to get rid of me later, but thats another story. Anyway, I just wanted to say he spoke of you a lot and was very proud of your work in the Church and in politics. Best wishes, Sam Flynn. There is an over-arching priority here. Voting against Article 50 would have been pointless because success was impossible plus a vote against would have been a gift TO UKIP andthe Brexiteers proving their claim that the political elite is out of touch and anti-democratic. That view s the road to disillusionment with politics and the path to a populist obscenity such as Trump. No point in barking before you can bite. Opposition will fierce after next week as the Tory anti-Brexiteers will find their mojo. Many thanks. I am aware of the George Street reading of the Riot Act in the twenties and I know from hand-me-down stories from my own families of violence against Irish Immigrants in 1850s. I had not heard about the pogrom in Tredegar. Must look that up. I recently read a book about the last Jews in the Valleys as part of the process of local families moving to London. But these events do not alter my claim. The Irish descendants of Irish immigrants held 3 of the local MPs seats until recently and other communities have been well assimilated including Asians, Somalis, West Indians and East Europeans. In many cities there are ghettoes of immigrant groups. Not here. Newport is good example of racial harmony. Best wishes,
Thanks. Looking forward to thorough and swift review that will put this witch hunt into its proper minor perspective. Paul Flynn MP

I am baffled that this key speech was not picked up I have highlighted in an article to be published in the Parliaments House Magazine and I have raised the contents of the speech repeatedly in the Commons.
