Congrats. Look forwards to seeing your thinking on LinkedIn. As a start I'd love to see a whistle stop tour / condensed version / updated view of your 21 principles for innovating.

Thanks for posting this Nick. I was inspired by it to add Television to one of my "Five things that you didn't realise were social media." at http://www.economicsofinnovation.org/2012/01/social-media-in-real-world.html

Even as a professional thinker, I was so committed to the same idea that you've hit on that I created an entire presentation to argue that Execution Eats Strategy for Breakfast: http://www.slideshare.net/peterjthomson/execution-eats-strategy-for-breakfast I love the example you used about the footballer with an "idea" of going to the World Cup. An idea isn't enough.

To be fair the Sunbeam 6910 stands up to a few of the pro machines and provides a good starter kit. It's powerful enough to learn on and it's got a bit of a cult following on the coffee geek sites.

The Net Promoter Score is also a good way to measure brand loyalty and engagement. It measures the ratio of people who would recommend your product to a friend against those who would discourage a friend from using it. I find it very relevant for brands that want to build awareness through community and social engagement.
