Well, that's even better than making it yourself!
A bit of DIY for the love of organising...
The other week I came across some wooden wine boxes when collecting another load of chopped wood for our stove in our garden storage... Now... these little pieces of packaging crates to have ended up under my hammer to be added in the burning fire with the rest of their dried 'nod chopped wood...
Yes, A-4 paper fits in there... If you take the corner pieces out that is... Simply put a flat screwdriver between the corner piece and the crate and hit the handle with a hammer a few times so the corner piece comes loose...
For the love of organising...
Don't you love to see how other people have organised their scrap supplies? Or other crafty items, for that matter? I do... I can peek for hours in the lovely scrap- and craft rooms of total strangers, through the pictures or videos that are posted so freely on the web! Love that about our com...

Thanks!!! Love that i got it done (and the blogging about it to J)
LSNED entry 26 through 30...
These last few days i'm busy prepping another album project (no, i'm not telling yet what it is!!!), so it's very well possible that this last LSNED post is soon to be followed by more fun 'nd cute album pages... i guess you can tell i love doing album projects, wink! But for now let's go back t...
I just print at home... Different papers have a different saturation, but i like a matte effect so i print on heavy plain paper...
Snail mail project...
Don't you love getting snail mail? Of sending it, for that matter? I do, especially when it's hand made... and when you have a cute new digital stash of papers and other matching digi goodies, it's easy to create some cute invites you can send... I got to play with one of the latest kits fr...
My suggestion would be to make a new design for the week 4 card, one that you could easily cut in half... print the word 'week' from top down to bottom on the left side, and print the '4' the usual way (maybe even a bit bigger in size) on the right side... cut in half eh voila! I think that should do the trick, without changing the overal feel of your album!
Help. A major decision to make.
Do you ever have a week that makes you think that you've really got it all together? You think, "Man, I am on top of things this week. I have GOT THIS." Well, this week was not that kind of week for me. :p I feel as though I've barely been holding it together all week long and the slightest...
Oh yeeh!! I was hoping you'd join in this year too! Loved what you showed about your december albums over the past few years...!!
And about that MS punch... maybe you can use some digi snowflakes instead? Since you're the queen of clean and stylish digi design, you might consider designing one yourself (would be fun for your Silhouette shop too, hint hint :)) I use some of your designs in my DD album (haven't had the time posting any yet, unfortunately), and wanted to let you know that all your efforts in making them are really appreciated!
Anyway, good luck and much joy with your album!
Have a great holiday season!
December Daily? Me? + a good looking dude...
Yep, I decided to embrace the season and do a December album. This is what I have to work with. It's all I brought with me from Tennessee. I'm not good at finishing albums that take this kind of effort but there is just so much I want to record and keep. I'm also going to be starting super lat...
Oh, that last picture totally cracks me up!
Keeping busy
It has been a very busy half term, what with my new job, Matthew starting a new football team (training on Saturdays and matches on Sundays), plus all the usual. My work involves lots of early mornings (not so nice) and lots of travelling. I get to see some beautiful villages and countryside o...
What a sweet compliment! Designing for Flow? I only i could :)!
Collage monday...
It's already late, and i have a busy day at work ahead... just a quick post to show this weeks collage monday entry... Just like the original, i used a lot of rub-ons (letters: vintage Making Memories alphabet; swirl by Basic Grey), the green flowers are cut from a design paper by Amy Butler (...
Love it! Especially because the use of lot's of rub-ons... have many of those in my stash, and it is a joy to use them!

collage monday
i am on a rub-on frenzy lately and loving the results! the birdcage rub-ons are from the michaels dollar section and the alphabets...ki memories "tattoos", probably like 7 years old. i had 2 sheets of the patterned paper i cut the blue flowers from. it is a prima paper and on the reverse was t...
Yes, Amy Butler Lotus Midwest Modern alphabeth Stamps by K&Company, to be precize... i have been longing for this set a long time too, but when i finally bought them i found out that -not as expected- they weren't my go to alpha set... the shape is very clean, so it should be perfect for me... maybe it's in the size? Hmmm, i'll try to give them another chance...
Inspiration Wednesday...
Another post and more stuff to show you... Haven't the slightes idea what's going on with me, but i'm on a roll lately... maybe something in the water :) or the weather? Anyway... i had a studio-day today and worked in my art journal on a new Inspiration Wednesday entry... Donna's was fabulous t...
Loved to see your progress on yet another great IW-page! Have had those inchies stamps in my hands many times, but didn't knew what to do with them... hmmmm... now i wish i had bought them! Anyway... had my own take on it (see here if you like: http://lifeandscrapping.typepad.com/lifeandscrapping/2011/09/inspiration-wednesday.html) and had fun making it, even without those stamps :)
inspiration wednesday + video
ok, all i have to say is, the little white puffy paint dots and the inchies make this weeks inspiration wednesday ROCK! watch the video! inspiration wednesday 8.31.11 from donna downey on Vimeo. supplies used: inspiration journal caran d'ache neocolor II watercolor crayons jade (211) orange...
What a lovely comment... thank you!
Yep, i want to try the collage you mentioned too... have some Basig Grey papers with a similar pattern, so that will be great... now just find the time :)
Joining collage monday...
I already loved Donna's Inspiration Wednesday, and have made a page now and then in my art journal... when she started Collage Monday i tried to keep away from the urge to start another dedicated album especially to collage... and i've been successful at that for weeks... Yep, have been... ah...
Thanks! I was just playing around with some stamps and a black pen :)
Anyway, the tapes i used aren't genuin washi tapes... the checkerboard one is by Pink Paislee, and the top one with the green florish is clear scrapbooking tape by Prima. The brown tape is just a vintage paper ruler...
hope to get my hands on some 'real' washi tape though...

I'm right there with you, buying art supplies on a trip! I mean, how can you NOT buy those colorfull, yummy supplies when you pass a store :)?!! So i had a small box of Sennelier oil pastels too, and i was so glad to see you'd used them this inspiration wednesday! Here's my take: http://lifeandscrapping.typepad.com/lifeandscrapping/2011/08/oil-pastels.html
inspiration wednesday + video
this weeks inspiration wednesday is brought to you by the letter "P"... this was an idea that i used in my studio for this months Inspiration Wednesday workshop. the basic idea was to divide your page(s) into a grid and bring only the supplies with you that started with a "P". the items that w...
Yes, i did love the page before the top layers got on too! That's why i couldn't believe that i was covering the whole thing with a white wash etc. But hey, you have to be bold when you try your artistic skills, right?! But i'm glad the end result is nice too... otherwise i might not have bothered to post it :)
Oil pastels...
One of my favorite things about Donna's Inspiration Wednesday is her use of various art supplies... like her i cannot pass an art supply store without going in... love to browse through all the racks with pencils, paints and papers... love it to take out some of these beautiful pastels, all sor...
Ah, lovely! And well done you, finishing it already! I see you've used Ali's method... very smart! I really like how you cut your daily sheets in half... it gives the album a refreshing look by adding a diferent size page! And it takes off a load of work too, not having to rewrite everything that you've already jotted down :)!
Week in the Life 2011 - the completed album
Nearly a month later it's finished, my Week in the Life album for 2011. It's surprisingly quite full. I used a 8.5 x 11 American Craft album and different sized page dividers. I didn't go all out on the scrapbook side, just used a few bits and pieces here and there. Like lovely 'flair butt...
Oh, but that trips sounds delightfull! And if you use ready made digi templates before uploading your pictures, (just as i should have done before having those developed :))and print or develop those in the right format, then it's easy peasy!
Playing with pictures...
Here at the VanderRee house hold it's back to the daily routine of work, school and every daily duties! Stach is a 'group 5-er' now, can you believe it? He told me yesterday that he has to write very small letters now, and that he's allowed to choose what ever he want's to write with on Frida...
Oh, i'm glad i see several photo's about washing or folding laundry in your WITL collection too! I thought i was the only one who spent so much time doing that :)!
Week in the Life - Wednesday
Documenting a week in our life. Day 3 - Wednesday 27th July 2011. Building a den with Grandma Boland. Getting ready to go out, or NOT as the case maybe with these two. Have you met Grandma Matthew? Callum on a space hopper found in the kids toy box at Kingston Lacy. Finding out the an...
Oh yes, i remember having a hard time too with Wuthering Heights (years ago), although i loved the story!
And that picture of you doing laundry is so funny: it's just if i'm kind of looking at myself, including pj's and slippers, instead it's a blue version and not pink!
Week in the Life - Friday
Documenting one week in our life. Day 5 - Friday 29th July 2011. Before breakfast. Callum doing one of his favourite things - playing on Lego Digital Designer. Matthew in bed reading yet another book, this time Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Me putting the first of four loads of washin...
Hee, i didn't know that your were (kind of?) a pro when it comes to photography! Looks impressive, that kit!
But i love your pictures... the ones you show when you've been of a trip somewhere are often very very nice!
Week in the Life - Saturday
Documenting one week in our life. Day 6 - Saturday 30th July 2011. Flowers courtesy of my mother-in-law. Recently re-discovered school photos of the boys which were supposed to have been given away at Christmas are now given away this week instead. Wrapping up my Dad's birthday present. ...
Oh yes, i you already mentioned on Life and Scrapping... the similarities are so much fun! The pink roses, the organizing of spoons etc. next to the stove in both our kitchens, the moon lamp in your sons room, the crocheing, ther stories your sons read or listen too!
Oh, and what did i saw, are you selling your car? The beetle?
Week in the Life - Sunday
Documenting one week in our life. Day 7 - Sunday 31st July 2011. Jeff and I have a lovely long lie in. He's on an afternoon shift today and deserves a good sleep. Making breakfast. Eating breakfast. The boys nearly always eat their breakfast in the lounge at the little tables and usually ...
I made a red tank top! The picture is in the first Sunday photo collage (at the bottom)! I screen printed my image at the back bottom of the tank top!
WITL 2011- Saturday
Although it was (and still is) a lot of work, keeping track of all our daily adventures throughout this week, the whole week has flown by! Only the weekend to show & tell here on Life and Scrapping... wow... At the beginning of this project i was a bit worried that there might not enough 'stuff ...
Yes, i liked the look of that journaling too :) so i might journal the same way in my album!
WITL 2011- Sunday
Yay, the last day of this 'documenting the every day' adventure blogged... i guess i'm left with at least 30 photos per day, but i have taken lots and lots more, somewhere between 60 and 100 per day... I'm glad this part is over, because the whole picture taking got a bit hard in the end... but...
Yes, i’m thinking of doing the same… printing at home takes so much time (and ink :))…
Did you get the whole WITL kit from Ali?
