All is Well When in the Garden
Spring have been a daily visiter, with summer temperatures hot on her heels. Our garden is at its most glorious in the spring, but it is particularly lush this year. We decided that it is due to the massive amounts... Continue reading

Amber Light Specal
Lately my knitting has taken a turn from selfish to selfless, meaning that I am giving most of what comes off the needles away. Economic times are tough and there are many birthdays, wedding, babies being celebrated. Shopping for "meaningful... Continue reading

My neighbor and I each received the new catalogue in the mail. The in copy on page one had us gagging and laughing. I guess that they are no longer "mere retailers" but have morphed into "curators"of historical design. While they are not "following the pack"and lowering their prices, they are "liberating and abandoning their past" and embracing their future with overpriced "reproductions".
By the way those books, at Marshall's with layers of red stickers, languishing on a shelf in the clearance aisle. Looks like they can't give these away.
The New Restoration Hardware Leaves Me Cold and Gray
My husband and I just bought that bigger house I posted about earlier, so once we sell our current home, we’ll be shopping for some new furniture for the first time in years. I felt excited when I found out that Restoration Hardware was opening a new store near us in downtown Los Gatos. I ha...
Gifts in Season
Yes, yes..there has been some knitting going on. The summer here has been brutal, although not as brutal as in other parts of the country. After all, we're geared for hot weather. The temperatures have been in the 90's with... Continue reading

Colour Outside the Box
I love color. It shows in our home, our garden, my clothes, and my knitting. The bolder, the better. I have been bringing home color chips in the hopes of finding a color to make a change our terracotta walls.... Continue reading

Summertime and the Livin' is Easy

Emmaline Needs A Home
Emmaline, one of the most enjoyable patterns I have ever knit, is finished and is not a success. Oh, the sweater is beautiful. I love the pattern. But, it doesn't fit. It won't ever fit. I've tried to convince myself, but no matter what I imagine about the saving graces of an edging of croc...
Macarones and Mother's Day
It was another beautiful week here in Florida with weather vacillating between 70-something and hotter than Hades. I celebrated Mother's Day by quietly graduating college, albeit, 30 years later than most. I have left the bakery job and am taking... Continue reading

Isn't it rich? Are we a trio?
Ha, a little Stephen Sondheim/Judy Collins mischief! It's been a cruel, cruel winter all over America, but down here in the sweet south, we are just not prepared for temperatures approaching zero. Tom and I managed to burn through two... Continue reading
