Lindsay, the yards are unparalleled here. It's a really awesome town. I think everyone who appreciates beauty and art should live here. :)

Kelly, I grew up with hickens, too, and they pecked me-so I'm a little bit hesitant around them! I love chicken poo in my garden, but I really don't love stepping in it by accident. Other than my dogs, domestic animals do not have much appeal for me. Most of that is because I'm on the go a lot. So this is a big and ongoing discussion! It's a big deal for us to let them collect eggs and also, since we eat quite a bit of eggs, not contribute to the hicken crisis that occurs with some farming. For now, we're trying to by local eggs laid by lap hens who wear cashmere shawls around them in winter and sleep with eiderdowns-no shortage here in Portlandia. ;) Kiss your big kids for me, mama!
